And as soon as you say yes, the delivery man proceeds to hand you FIVE more parcels...

Not knocking people, but the plural is parcels. Not everyone works 9-5 and has time to do quests to deliver parcels.

I suppose it is up to each individual. If you don't mind there is a chance you'll take it in. If you do mind then he goes back to his vehicle with said parcel.
A lot of neighbours hate the sight of each other.

Some people take the piss when delivering stuff, I always ask how big or heavy a parcel is, then decide.

Once a driver tried to off load 6, 5 litre tins of roof paint, with one of the tins leaking, good job I could smell the peardrop fumes coming off them. Cheeky twat.

It would help if they always put a card through the neighbour's door but I think most just head back to their van, leaving you to spend the next couple of days watching out for when your neighbour may be at home. I think a local law should be brought in saying not collected in 2 days then the parcels are yours!

Nah, knowing my luck there’d be a hundredweight of tinned Kale in Cod Liver Oil in the ‘promising’ box.

For the record I'm fine with either of my nextdoor neighbours (should edit the thread name) parcels as I'm close enough to just pass the parcels over and hear their cars. When it's 6 doors down though....

Perhaps you could drop a note through their door yourself asking them to come and pick up the parcel. It would save you the nightmare trial of having to walk six houses away on several occasions.

firstly why order something when you know you,ll be out when it gets delivered. pisses me off big time now. used to take stuff in but not anymore. if its broken when the buyer recieves it from you then you could end up in the chain of who broke the thing in the first place giving you problems you can do without. sodding herpes actually opened my garage door and put something in that neither of us knew about. luckily it was flat and i did not run over it when coming back.
