‘Rumours on social media’...stopped reading.
I thought it was about Brown Ford Granada’s speeding along with Reagan and Carter.

Great car chases with the final line being "get your pants on your nicked"

Most others have departed the club since the Torquay game, so it won't be a shock if he does.

Is there a wage problem at the club?

When people don’t know what’s going on they speculate, when they think they know, they fabricate.... like the man said, the truth is usually getting out of bed while rumour has run round town twice.

Hey like no other club in the football league has staff coming and going on a regular basis constantly, it's rare that people are at clubs more than 18 months these days, particularly backroom staff.
Yes we'd rather Sweens stayed than left but we're not best placed to decide where his future lies.

Isn't social media wonderful? The Northern Echo reported the same thing on Friday morning and now it's the hot gossip on face twatter.

Tony Sweeney made some cryptic comments after his last game in charge that suggested he might not be entirely happy with the new set up that had been announced.

Him and Micky Nelson were teammates at Pools for 6 seasons and for all I know got on really well together. Whether they did or not, should we expect him to be happy about being bumped back down to third man in the hierarchy, taking instructions from the relatively untested Lee and Nelson?

Graeme Lee has gone out of his way since taking over to try to reassure Sweeney about how valued he is as part of the set up, but had the damage already been done?

Does Sweeney agree with the changes in playing style Lee and Nelson are trying to implement?

These questions are speculation. No little birds are telling me anything, but if Tony Sweeney does leave it would be daft to assume that it's only about money.

If...and it’s always a ‘if’, Sweeney is unhappy, isn’t it like any other business where you have a crisis and step in to ‘run the shop’ and hold the fort. You realise it’s a temporary scenario and whoever comes in will have their way of doing things. Lee spent a long time coaching the boro way and they were happy with what he was doing, so he must have been valued by them.
Therefore when Lee arrives, Sweeney steps back to his original role. He wasn’t Challinor’s choice as deputy, he brought Hill in from outside for that role so can we assume after working with Sweeney for a while, Challinor wanted someone also as deputy?.....so being behind Nelson in the pecking order should be no great surprise.
This nonsense has gone on for too long, if he’s going ....go, because this is either a giant ‘buttering up’ exercise or just another extended rumour mill product.

do not want him to go but if he is not happy its better for him and pools to move on. being unhappy in any job means you will not give everything to the job. imagine most of us have been there at one time of our lives.

I don’t want him to go either but........ the curse of social media is that any oaf can start rumours and rumours grow legs. There’s always someone gullible enough to want to believe the most ridiculous scenarios and speculate till their brain melts.... if he’s here this time next year we can safely put it to bed he’s staying

how can we persuade him to stay ?...mmmmm.......promise we will not play 4-5-1...or maybe he would accept just a basic 4-4-2....or maybe...if we promised him he would never be given "instruction" by the number one and number two.....and would always be asked politely with a please ?..... ffs stpid

If he is part of the coaching team he takes on the ethos of the manager regardless of whether he approves or not. As a part of that group he has to pass on a common message, divided management produces a divided team in all walks of life.
Get over it, get involved, shape up or ship, out.

Just a thought on Sweeney, on reflection he has been very guarded and non-commital in his actions and words since DC scuttled off. I’m getting less and less surprised that he may well take the road out of Pools.
