The only thing I can think of that was as bad is the Shay at Halifax when there was a dog track around the pitch.

actially it seems far worse there than other clubs that have or had speedway and dog tracks around them. the shay never bothered me as bradford rugby never did apart from the former being nearly impossible to take a corner on. the next bad one in the bradford park avenue ground which is nearly 3 sided and has certainly never warmed to fans with 200 to 400 turning up depending how they are doing. trouble is finding an area for a new ground is getting harder by the day with the cost and anything seemingly used for new housing.

In a manner of speaking. You can walk over a bridge from Gateshead into central Newcastle. South Shields is nearly 12 miles from the Toon.

exactly. for those who do not know the area it feels just like one big city. even back in the days of gateshead being a league club their gates were poor and if rumour were true at the time some accociated with the club found it a blessing in disguise losing their league status.
