On the balance of play in the second half we should have won it.

We’ve been spoilt at home for a long time, dating through the national league season into the start of the L2 season, home performances have been attacking and ball on the floor games.

If we had a Ritchie Barker mould forward to ping these balls at then the tactics would make more sense. I predict by February we’ll be playing 442 with a big centre forward and a Molyneux-type player playing off him.

I also think we’ll see a couple of notable outgoings in Jan.

Ah, but he never states which club he’s a ‘spokesman’ for though does he?
Rumours have it he’s Chairman of ‘ The Loyal Loids and Bedfellows Knitting and Rumour Mongers Circle’.
Membership ....3.

Why do you think everyone has 'conveniently forgot'? We're talking about the last game we played and it was shit.

We've had a couple of great cup results but yesterday was dire. The old saying goes, you're only as good as your last game.

Or only as good as your last points tally.
Stunning display, nil points .....misery.
Shit display, one point, survival.

Yes the last 2 performances haven't been great but if you listen to Lee's interview he states we wanted to get sterry and Ferguson on the ball as they are our main threat but we didn't move the ball well enough to get them involved enough. I'm sure his tactics aren't to play shit, maybe the players have just gone off the boil a bit. It's a bit early to be judging the management surely, give them a chance. It might not work out in the end but see what happens once they bring in a few players they want.

Scunny weren't great but they made it difficult, they don't get battered every week and have picked up a bit under Hill, just one of those days.

agree with that as well as he hasn,t been at the club that long to really know his players. my only gripe was the lack of fresh faces and legs starting yesterday. the side looked drained of energy from the start and i,m sure those squad players plus ho;lohan could not have done any worse. hope lee is not going to be one of those managers that have their preferred starting 11 and sticking to it rigidly when he can. these so called second raters hardly let the club down at hillsborough.

In his post match interview Lee admitted the team were fatigued after three games in a week but said he didnt want to change a winning team hence only the one change. Not going to criticize at this stage though probably would have given Holohan a run out.

Not everything is going to go our way. It’s a point in a game that could have went either way. I thought they had the better chance when their guy blazed over from 8 yards out.

Agreed. I'm trying to stay chilled out. As long as we get enough points to stay in the league I will be content. Next season following a good summer break will be the time to push for promotion.

This was a season of hope, de-railed by we all know what. As long as we stay in the league I’ll be ever so grateful.

Yep, 25 games to go, win at least 8 plus a draw or two and we should be safe. Any more and we're well into the comfort zone.

Disappointed at our set plays, having watched both Lee and Nelson play for pools and score from set plays I expected them to address this but all set plays yesterday where atrocious. We had liddle and Buryne in the penalty area numerous times only for them to jog back to goal shaking their heads, needs addressing

Featherstone takes just about all set plays & are mainly rubbish.
Ferguson & Sterry should be taking them, they can both with whip balls in with pace.

Agree 100% we need Sterry on them dead balls. There is no man sweeping the second ball either once it comes out of the box, countless times saturday this happened - Feaths needs some time out of the side tbh. Hes lacking what he gave us last season. Weather thats down to the opposition being better or our tactics being different (i think its not so much the latter). Daly or Holohan coming in to change it earlier on saturday would have helped that game alot. Same with dragging Cullen off too. Looked off the pace come 60 mins or so. (also his Goal was sound bad refereeing that).

Crawford seems to have finally found some sort of form or confidence. He has played remarkably well the last few games. Credit where credit is due for the young lad as ive never rated him tbh.

Having watched the highlights I am wondering why the heck the goal was disallowed. The keeper couldnt get to the ball so he just fell over to claim the foul. Cullen had used all his experience and footballing nous to be perfectly positioned and judged the flight of the ball better than the keeper. Poor decision as far as I can see but would be interested in what others think.

I agree with that judgement, it was never a foul.

I didn't see the game only a couple of minutes highlights but a draw looked a fair result as Scunny had some chances as well.
Referees seem to always give the Goalies any benefits that are going.
Three points on Saturday.

possibly with the score as it was and how the game was panning out the ref may have decided anything not 100 per cent spot on would be chalked off and the same with penalty decisions. if it had been say 4 nil to one of the sides he,d have let it stand. if they,d have scored we,d have been saying killip was fouled and the ref was right. thought he was far better than wedesdays nights joker in clowns uniform anyway.

Big game Saturday, it looks like we are now set up to play like the away team even at home, so let's hope these tactics work away, we really could do with a good result away in the league.

Colchester are doing crap too - but we all know the script... little old Pools go there and they give us a walloping.. Nice little confidence booster to turn their tide over the festive period.

According to you as long as they were the last games we played, you would think pools were great, just using your brilliant analogy.

It's December 2019, and Boreham Wood are playing Hartlepool United at Victoria Park, the Wood score a third goal of the day to potentially make it 3-0 and I heard and I quote "Challinor out". That goal was ruled offside and Pools went on to draw 2-2. That was Challinor's first home game.

People hunting for Nelson and Lee's heads already, I'm not happy with the appointment but that's shocking. You'd have thought we lost on the weekend with the reaction.

Should also note Scunthorpe have lost 9 and drawn 10. So it's not just us.

i think alot of our fans were dubious because of his so called connections. Something at this level we need to rely on to bring in decent players etc.

we have seen it time and time again with the old Boro connection and getting some of their U23's this time it looks nailed on that we may see some of them. However should it be a certain Josh Coburn or Nathan Wood then fair enough, these are boys on the cusp of Boro' first team. But we do now have a head of recruitment and someone to actually scout us players so the burden doesnt all lie with the management team as it has done previously.

Not so much employed scouts more part of DC coaching staff and referrals lets say... although there was someone within the club also dealing with getting players in .. again i only get 2nd hand info from an employed member of the Pools staff.

Somebody told me that Susan Penhaligon was our chief scout last season, ably assisted by Valerie Singleton.
Mind you he then turned around and proceeded to make chicken type clucking noises for the next 20 minutes, I mean I don't know what to believe.

Penhaligon is a lie, however Val does savour a good clean tackle from behind....and she has contacts

Nothing wrong with Cullens goal stood his ground and the keeper was clueless.

clubs at our level have always relied on the manager/ coaching staffs contacts ex players and some known supporters living away from the area passing on info about players.
