This should technically see us score our biggest home win of the season. We are coming off the back of 3 impressive wins (2 obviously to supposed superior opposition). New manager and home fixture, but for some reason... one us being Pools... i just cant see it.

I think we will scratch a nervy 1-0. Goal coming from either Cullen or Daly from a Ferguson cross.

its a must win though - home time against bottom of the league (but history tell us otherwise)

come on Lee/Nels UTFP !

2-1 again.... I hope.... more concerned about the points than the ‘purity’ of the performance.

Scunny starting to pick up points under their new manager so they wont be push overs. A 1-1 draw is my prediction.

Well then , we might as well just text them the points and save the cost of their coach travel, if the local paper says so.

Scunny have stepped right up, are scrapping for their lives under a manager with lots of experience, and will feel confident. Make no bones, we'll need to be at it.

Nail on head Mr Large Canine. Fortunately I think that will be drummed into the Pools players.

I'd love to see us play better than Wednesday, the performance was concerning to say the least, but at the end of the day if we scrape another win it will get us closer to the January transfer window, when we can splash the cash on some under 23s.

Is the drummer still there? I wondered if he would be a casualty of the NWC issue.

If we could consistently beat teams in the lower reaches of the league we wouldn't have spent so long in the NL.

Pools 1-1 Scunthorpe

How many times have we been doing well, excited and dreaming the dream then beaten by a team near the bottom at home.
0-1.

Hope not.

Cash held back to the Summer Window after missing out on Messi n Ronaldo due to paperwork missing the deadline by about 3.5 seconds.

Hope u not correct BP.

It's got all the ingredients of a defeat, Pools being lucky to win on Wed, a team bottom of the league but picking up points, yeah we've been here before..(quite a lot).

But it's the last home game before Christmas, should be a decent crowd, so let's get it done, Pools win, score no idea. UTP

Scunny very much in a similar mould to Rochdale in that they keep the ball well. Question is if we try out-football them or just sit off & try counter as we did Weds.

The second of those tactical options didn't go down well with the terrace management team after Wednesday's win.

Not beaten but a draw still sees us slip into bottom half of the table.
As Ed-t-ball infers that Pools have consistently failed to beat teams in the lower reaches of leagues. It is worth pointing out that the reason that teams are near the bottom of leagues is because many other teams have beaten them, which is why Pools' failures are a real problem if the club is to make significant progress.

I hope that Raj realises that a decent striker would pay for himself by converting draws like today, into wins. A 1-0 win would guarantee a decent attendance at the next home game but drawn games like today will see a fall in income at the turnstiles.

Well that was the second of two dreadful home performances, I'm not sure what our tactics are but it's dreadful to watch, that's after taking 4 points out of 6.

We could sign Salah in January & he'd struggle to score in this team with these tactics.
Absolute tripe.
We've gone from a good footballing team to hoofball, with Sterry & Ferguson hardly getting a kick.
If that's the way Lee wants us to play,we will struggle.

Let's not beat around the bush we have just played the worst team in the country and hardly had a shot on their goal at home. We are missing out our biggest threats in the team, sterry and ferguson, I suppose you get what you pay for, we have gone the cheap option and it's been rubbish to watch so far, maybe away from home it might work but we are lucky to have played two pretty poor teams.

You do get what you pay for. Have we been shit all season or just the last few games? You say we miss our biggest threats in Sterry and Ferguson? Make your mind up we're either shit or changed the way we play recently. What's cheap got to do with tactics? Seemed to work previously?

Strange post!

We have been shit the last two home games and if anyone thinks we haven't their in denial. It's been rubbish to watch. Why have we changed the way we play at home?

New management with an absolutely turgid style of play. If this is what they want to impose, then they won’t last long as we won’t continue to get 4 points every 2 games if this is the performance levels.

Challinor was a miracle worker with what we have and the step up in league

Totally agree we have changed the way we play! Just don't understand the 'you get what you pay for' comment? Of course it is true but we've shown in previous games we can play far better than today so it has to be tactics? Are you talking about players or manager?

Im talking about the cheap managerial appointment and im saying that after 4 points out of 6 and a cup win, but lets not get carried away we cant keep playing like this.

Get what you pay for?
The bulk of today's team ran Northampton & Harrogate ragged in the 2nd half, playing fantastic football.
The last two games have been garbage due to tactics.
I was underwhelmed by the appointment of Lee & Nelson, but hoped they would turn out good choices.
Unfortunately from what I've seen, that isn't the case..

Yes the last 2 performances haven't been great but if you listen to Lee's interview he states we wanted to get sterry and Ferguson on the ball as they are our main threat but we didn't move the ball well enough to get them involved enough. I'm sure his tactics aren't to play shit, maybe the players have just gone off the boil a bit. It's a bit early to be judging the management surely, give them a chance. It might not work out in the end but see what happens once they bring in a few players they want.

Scunny weren't great but they made it difficult, they don't get battered every week and have picked up a bit under Hill, just one of those days.

Yeah your probably right, way too early to judge I guess, it just all feels very underwhelming, maybe we will now be more suited to being the away team, or maybe we just got spoilt at home the way Challinor played. One thing is for sure that Blackpool fa cup looks a bit tougher than it did a week ago.

I think I’ll give it a bit longer before I start getting the ‘vapours’.
Scunthorpe may have been shite for most of the season so far, but their new manager is changing things,...... we didn’t get to play the shite Scunthorpe.
Four points from those two will do me nicely at this stage of the season....how did Moneybags Stockport get on out of interest....?

I think points wise we would probably all of taken it after 5 losses, I don't think we should lose sight of the fact it's probably 3 more than we deserved though, if we continue playing like this I think we will be closer to relegation than mid table.

Scunnies fifth draw in their last eight games.
We are not alone in drawing with them with their new manager.

I thought Sterry had a really good second half. Their keeper made 3 good saves to keep it level. That said, the first half was pretty dire from Pools and Byrne had a terrible time against their big no.19.

Even in the second half Killip spent far too much time kicking long with Cullen and Molyneux standing no chance in the air against two towering centre backs. Had to laugh when they were subbed off for two even smaller forwards, Grey and Olomola. Not for the first time, Fela looked decent on the ball in the 10 minutes or so he had on the pitch.

Average crowd 5280 this season.
Some work to do from the hierarchy in January to maintain this Incredible support.

For the time being I don’t care if the football is a bit dire as long as we keep building up the points, four out of six is a good return. Heaven can wait for now.

Great how everyone conveniently forgets we won away at Lincoln, the first time Pools have ever won away in the FA cup against a team from a higher league. Also how poster Club Spokesman isn’t called out as a Darlo fan I’ll never know.

For the time being I don’t care if the football is a bit dire as long as we keep building up the points, four out of six is a good return. Heaven can wait for now.

being realistic you are correct. would have taken that before the start of wednesdays game. still 13 points above the bottom two and how long did those teams take to amass that number.

Scunny weren't great but they made it difficult, they don't get battered every week and have picked up a bit under Hill, just one of those days.

agree with that as well as he hasn,t been at the club that long to really know his players. my only gripe was the lack of fresh faces and legs starting yesterday. the side looked drained of energy from the start and i,m sure those squad players plus ho;lohan could not have done any worse. hope lee is not going to be one of those managers that have their preferred starting 11 and sticking to it rigidly when he can. these so called second raters hardly let the club down at hillsborough.
