Morecambe, Wycombe, Sheff Wed, Lincoln, possibly Bolton and Blackpool to come, can't really include Everton U23's in that list, but in the nearly 50 years I've been following Pools I can't remember us playing or defeating that many teams from a higher division than us in a single season...remarkable really and long may it continue.

I think you are right on this one Paulus. I was born in 1953 when Blackpool won the cup. An omen? A Pools victory of course.

pools have never been a cup team and all this does make a welcome distraction.

If Pools can get the right players in be it Jan or more likely next summer this could possibly be the strongest side we have had since Cardiff. Get Promoted again next season and id call it our strongest ever. There is a team there certainly, you dont beat teams like Sheff Wed/Lincoln and Wycombe at home on a fluke. Blackpool are there for the taking also.

do not think anyone will turn up for the game thinking pools have no chance of victory. doubt they,ll be rubbing their hands in glee with the draw.
