Hard to predict with new manager. Interesting to see what formation is played and what Lee considers is his best eleven. I think Lincoln wont underestimate us the way the Wendies did so they will probably edge it. 2-0 to the Imps.

Two goals from corners - all down to coaching from Micky Nelson.

Bloody hell. Pools go marching on in two cup competitions in the space of 4 days. Against League 1 opposition.

Come on you footballing gods - give us a brilliant 3rd round tie for a change.

Let's face it, it's a fairytale for a middling National League team to get as far as the 2nd round

Dident realize the prize money was that high.

Surely the law of averages say we get one of the big guns away for a great payday.

It would be nice to get one of the REALLY big clubs like Stopcock County but we may have to make do with a Chelsea or Man U.

Interesting comments by Lee after the match re: Sweeney. It looks like Lee is desperate for Sweeney to stay. To be honest, so is everyone and i hope he does.

When we do get in with the BIG boys, generally the draw disappoints, apart from West Ham & Stoke. The biggest club I have seen Pools play is Spurs when Gazza scored 4 goals in a league cup game about 30 years ago, though in my time I know we've also played Arsenal in that comp.

Similarly with the league cup, making the third round after beating West Brom and drawing Leeds away, who were in the same division at the time felt like a poor draw.

lowest ranked side at the vic to progress further or cash out with man.u. away. burnley away would be good for me but possibly only me. would hate to draw a struggling prem side at the vic. would be a sell out but the side they would put out may have squad numbers into the 60,s that no one has ever heard of. the only good out of that could be a tv appearance.

The incentive of a lowest rank team at home is
82k + 45% of gate receipts.
+ more cash from round 4.

Something telling me Boro away on tv then a replay.

Chesterfield could be a bit of an embarassment.
Newcastle away would be a decent draw.

As above, avoid Chesterfield please.

Man United or Newcastle away. Liverpool would play the kids.

Kidderminster or Yeovil (maybe even Chesterfield although they look up for it tbh). Get past them - get some cash then worry about a nice Prem team away day where we take 5,000 plus fans and at least get a good day out and some ticket cash.

Main thing being winning the 3rd round draw gives us enough cash to wave at a decent striker alone - very important for me to get a team we could possibly beat. Enough teams left in and we have showed now that we no scared of playing teams in leagues above.

Get to the semis with Liverpool, Man utd and Newcastle and then it won't matter who we get cos it's at Wembley.
So that's two appearances at Wembley in the FA Cup, plus one in the final of the Papa Johns and one in the play off final, making four in all. Bags of loot from that lot.
