Even rich fans get bored, we’ll see. It also depends on how long they stay ‘rich’.

Surely its different in Stockports case, the investor is a fan. He not an outsider

well he wasn,t when he first came in for certain. heard he had an interest in man.city. same even with andy holt at accrington. was brought once by a fan to a game and fell in love with thance of any true fan he place. however even he wants to put a legacy there in place for future generations and not thrown his fortune on players. the chance of a true long term fan taking over any club nowadays is close to zero.

Some of these moneybags benefactors ‘fall in love’ with a club, lavish their interest on it then bugger off when it wears a bit thin.
The true fan treats their relationship with their club like a marriage, you love each other, at times you frustrate, exasperate and get angry with each each other, but quickly make up. You’re never gonna walk away from the ‘marriage’, the bonds are too strong so it’s for better or for worse, but you love it really.

Think many walk away when they are actually needed more but most do come back. Football clubs tend to do this with fans and its not always how the lads on the pitch are doing.

You can't criticise a man for recognising the errors of his ways, taking steps to put the record straight and following the true path.

Never said he was a lifelong fan and he knows it.
I’m talking about the daft lads like us who keep returning.... the easy thing would be to become a Premier droid, but that’s for the weak willed.

or those premier fans who put the names of the clubs on a bus destination type roller blind and turn it on a regular basis depending on who is top of the league.

I often get accused of going on about Pools too much but one outstanding feature I've noticed about plastic fans is that when "their" team is doing well they never shut up but when it isn't you can't drag a word out of them.
You could say that, as a Pools fanatic, I've been "programmed".
It's like Welshmen.
If they beat England at Rugby, you meet one on every corner for weeks but when England win you don't see any of them for months.

You don’t see it nowadays as the FA Cup Final has been downgraded, but back in the day, after the match, people who had no interest or even mentioned it had an opinion on it.

It’d have been great for a manager to have been appointed and for us to have won the last four. Unrealistic though. I assume that the delay is caused by our need to find the right fit rather than to save a months wage. Press speculation doesn’t help. I wonder if Strachan even applied. Probably not.

Rumours being Strachan applied and rejected his own admission for the post ? weirdly enough i can see this being partly true due to whats gone on over the last 2 months.

Maybe Raj is waiting till his X-Mas pud has settled and may pick up the phone to a manager on the cusp of the sack somewhere in the Northern Highlands second division. Im sure the wage offered will suffice. The commute not so much !

On a more serious note there was a large asteroid heading for earths orbit - does he know something we dont and is waiting for Bruce Willis and co to fend off another bit of wary space debris before making the decision, after all it could be utterly pointless if we are to be like our Dino ancestors and become extincted !

When the new chief operating officer was appointed we were told he had extensive contacts in the game, why are we not using them? A new recruitment manager was was being appointed, where is he. Raj is again trying to get a manager on the cheap. I believe it was his or his cronies interfering at all levels that was the true reason DC left and that the word has gone around. For goodness sake make a decision and get a decent manager in. Carlisle, Scunthorpe and Stevenage have all done it!!

So poolie 1 carry non living in your own little bubble and think it is all sunny and bright. I have supported Pools for over 60 years now so please wakeup we have problems at the top of the club. Where is the extra monies going from the larger crowds and the prize money from the two cups. All I want is to see Pools doing well and the club dealings to be more transparent and the fans to be kept informed. If that makes me a Rarf in your deluded opinion then so be it.

What are the problems you refer to? For you to be able to say there are problems means you must know what these problems are. Therefore tell us.
You can’t can you.
When thinking these things up, is the music of the Magic Roundabout playing in the background, because you have yet to verify ANY of your apparent innuendos.

Brentford have always been Lge1 & 2 to me, rather like Bournemouth, you just know it’s not sustainable.
Stockport are just a Lge 1/2 team to me, even though they’ve been down among the dead men for 10 years. The fans, well most of them, will be spending the new owners money in their heads and think they’ve found the road to success, no going back, just a glorious future..... they’ll find out eventually that you’re at the investors mercy... the fans may care, but how long will the investor.

Brentford’s model is different to Bournemouth. They know they have to balance the books through player sales rather than directly relying on a rich investor. That makes it less reliant on a single person who could walk away, but brings other risks - particularly if they can’t sell players on at a profit.

Brentford are a bit different as they have a decent catchment of fans around Kew/Chiswick/Ealing and they can attract decent foreign talent being London based. As far as I'm aware they don't have some oligarch lurking in the background although I might be wrong

Think their owner also has an interest in Midtjylland in the Danish league, a few players have moved between the two.

its always easier when you sack the previous manager as its possibly been going to happen for weeks before, time to look atound for who may be available or interested. as long as the right appointment is made, which there is no guarentee, it could be worth the wait. just lets hope so.

I do not feel because other contributors have different views they should be ridiculed on the bunker this has caused many people to stop posting messages. Why do you not have open discussions without the aggravation and accept some people have club connections they can not or will not divulge but can only give innuendo. Many good people have stopped sending posts it will not happen to me and in the end the truyh will come out.

We more or less sing off the same hymn sheet when the results are going ok.
But when on a bad run like now opinions will differ.
Nothing wrong with that.
Hopefully new year we start to build next seasons team which should banish any thoughts of a swift return to Vanarama Land.
Like has been said a few times by the ambitious poolies there can be no excuses for tbe next window Recruitment.

Well let me ask you a question or two.
Are all the innuendos and speculation you have brought to the table your take on things or can they be backed up by evidence of information given to you by "club insiders"?????
The confusion lies between your use of the description "different views" and then go on to mention "the truth"
Are your outbursts the truth or just your views????

essex.....kettle......take a look in the mirror...nothing wrong with exchanging opinions....but others may ridicule your opinions im afraid ...especially if you are talking bollox....thats the way it works...but what is far worse than a bit of ridicule is making things up ...telling porkies and publishing them on a public forum...spreading serious unsubstantiated allegations and accusations.....general shit stirring ....slagging off people who cant answer back..... just to look clever.....your "toxic undercurrents" post being typical of this....sorry but its bad form and bang out of order old boy...and sorry i still maintain yourself imp and clubspokesperson....are in fact ....the "three peas in the pod" on here.....oh sorry again .... is that a tad too much ridicule for you ?.....as i say ....give your eyes a good rub and have a look in the mirror...

do not know anyone close to pools or any other club nowadays. i did in the pre internet world but all i can say is once you divulge stuff to the wider fan base your information you give out will stop and the possibility of losing a friend also by tour actions.

If you come on a football message board expect banter and Micky taking.
Sadly you’ll also have to learn to live with different views to your own, shocking as that may seem in your world. If you can’t live with that, try a crocheting website, the scope for innuendo about the running of the knitting circle and why cheap darning needles and cotton were bought could be a bit risky, but much more down to your level.
Jeeeez

Agree with that Mr Accy but people genuinely in the know very rarely divulge the information never mind it's source, whereas the shit stirrers, rumour mongers, lie peddlers scream from the rooftops in an endeavour to prove they are in the know and their "mates" tell them everything.
Anybody peddling genuine information would soon be recognised by the original club member and as you say the tap would be switched off.

Was Graeme Lee even in the betting odds 24 hours before he was appointed? Bookies will be pissing themselves laughing at all the mug punters daft enough to stick money on any of the half dozen or so odds-on favourites to get the Pools job in the past month. Suckered again!
