Strachan's odds have just gone to 1-6. Bit funny for a man who's turned the job down.

Can only hope CS is enjoying a bit of a wind up as usual. Let's face it, there's never a better time to pretend you know something you don't than the middle of a hunt for a new manager.

Yep we now in the shit if a man who applied for the job then turns it down. Can only be salary or / and budget. Hope this is not the case or Raj may have hit a brick wall with the loyal fans and totally wasted a wonderful opportunity to move forward and build.

Is this huge delay in getting a new manager in being patient to get the right man in or to keep the payroll down. Or both.
100% down to Raj now to retain our league status.
8 point buffer zone with this squad is nothing.

We the supporters have done everything asked of us and more, 4 weeks on and the club can,t even be bothered to issue a simple statement.
Maybe how the search is developing, short list, timescale. But no nothing.

It's difficult not to because this is a very worrying situation and not at all what the fans were expecting a month ago.

On the Strachan situation, the other possibility is that he was ready to come to Pools but the Celtic manager didn't want to lose him and Celtic offered to up his wages. Celtic are one of the two richest clubs in Scotland, that naff Xmas vid says it all about the kind of money they've got to spend. Pools have got nearly 6,000 loyal fans, they've got 60,000!

I started a thread on Friday saying it was time Raj shone some light on what's happening with manager and Director of Football recruitment. Any kind of update beyond "there will be no further comment at this time" would be welcome.

All this speculation etc is all very interesting but it could be ended very quickly by Raj saying that's enough. Or he could put the club up for sale and say that if it isn't sold within a week it's closing down. Why just a week???? Well the mood is that he is dithering over making a decision so this time he can't be accused of that.
OR
We can just wait and see, as frustrating as that appears to be.
Sweeney's appointment as interim was supposed to buy the club time to make the right decision or get it right, as some would put it. Now that seems to be unacceptable and haste is the buzzword.
Fickle bunch aren't we.

im hoping, we have poached a manager that is a cut well above what we have had before - this stalling is down to agreement of compensation with said managers parent club. We are just awaiting the formalities and all will be revealed once the ink has dried on the contract. I live in hope now

I feel we need to be seeing some reaction by now to the situation. It looks like the darlings aren’t responding to Tony, so let’s get the ball rolling. If it’s already rolling, that’s all I need to know.....but we look like we’re diving vertically and the joystick has went floppy.
We need somebody to get a grip.

There are people who would love to see Raj walk away and we all know who they are. They hounded him out but blamed him for walking away and they want to see Pools fans go the same way. Some Pools fans are already giving him grief.
Football fans can turn someone from hero to zero in an instant, more often than not on hearsay, rumour or made up stories, forgetting in the same instant what that man has achieved in such a short space of time.
Could anybody blame him if he turned on the agitators with a " you ungrateful bastards" look on his face.

Surely he wouldnt walk so close to Santa coming ? why are we even toying with this diabolical scenario.

can we move onto something else on this thread - i cant bare the thought, makes me anxious just thinking of the jangling of the buckets outside Mansfields stadium on boxing day just so we can get the lads back to hartlepool on the mega bus.

In Raj we trust - he loves Pools, hes even just built a lovely eyesore of flats up Bishop Cuthbert for the elderly. Surely this shows his loyalties to the town :liar:

That's the problem, there are some who don't trust him and are vocal in letting their views be heard and not just on here.
I personally have no problem with the man and am happy with what he's done so far and I'm certainly not going to criticise him for our present managerless status. DC is responsible for that status. He's the one not to be trusted.

Only one man to blame for this mess and it's Dave Challinor. Doesn't help that raj appears to like the bargain basements, so probably takes a lot more time finding a cheap decent replacement. I think we all have worries over raj, doesn't help that since promotion we have gone backwards with the squad, some of the signings even national league North sides wouldn't entertain.

Impossible, you couldn't have your head up two arses at once.

There's good reason why people are wondering and speculating. Seems there's strange stuff going on at the moment. It is a valid taking point not for stifling.

I sat and watched the game at the weekend with the father in law - hes just back into town after working away for years. His first words where exactly this... what the feck has happened to that team that got promoted ? He thought he was watching a different team. Made exactly the same comment too that half the players would struggle on the wreck on a sunday morning.

Go on then, elaborate. What is this "strange stuff going on" of which you speak? Hope the Suits Direct people have been told because they'be just signed a 3 year sponsorship deal. Which crank on twitter or facebook should they be following?

You’re a ferret. You have nothing to offer but inane gossip and frothy chatter, nothing of substance, just innuendo and the rattle of someone with a fixation.
Come on, shit or get off the pot, because so far you’ve given us the square root of feck all.
Come on, just ONE fact. I won’t hold my breath.

Few rumours of Lee on twitter, I really hope not. Nothing against the man himself,he was a great player for pools and of course I'd give him my support but that would really be the cheap and desperate option. Might as well just keep sweens in charge!

Speculation (which has hardly been right so far) suggests a Lee & Nelson or Lee & Tinkler combo.

Graham Lee's car is in the club car park, number plate "G 5ike"

So it looks like Lee is deffo involved in something, whether he's the manager or not.

It could even be a Woodgate and Lee combo as they're meant to be good friends.
