How much will you bet this will be the next "disaster" storm, that is merely a gust of wind and doesn't actually do anything?

Also, when did we start naming storms? Do we now have cheerleaders at Victoria Park? Why don't we play the Star Spangled Banner before kickoff?

This is the first time a storm has been named, thats why its starting with the letter A :)

Its certainly been getting windier during the afternoon, might not be as bad as the forecast says it will be. We will find out when its fooked off on Sunday.

Is this going to be the proverbial "Storm in a Teacup"?

Well I suppose it will mean the Emergency workers will be on double/triple time over the weekend just in time for Christmas.

Pools tried that for a bit - gymnastics teams from local secondary schools if I remember rightly. It was all a bit lacking in razzamatazz and probably more bother than it was worth on a grey day with a wind whipping into the Vic off the North Sea.

My Norwegian terrier was busting for a pee and I let him out half an hour ago... there was snow flurry’s and he stood on the step looked at me turned round and went back in front of the fire to fall asleep. Must have been bluffing

Mind you it has been bad round my area but always is. Local christmas tree blown over, plenty in different areas without electric and was actually blown over by the wind for the first time in my life this morning on the moors. However the snow seems to be going as quickly as it came but we,ll still get more panic news from the media to join the rest of it.

Err I have lost my back fence and so have many other neighbours, two bushes uprooted and bollards blown all over the street.
Storm in a teacup?

When we got him they told us he was a ‘character’, what they meant was he’s a fly as hell. Does love the going in the sea though.

Despite loads of people without power, not a slither on BBC news. If this occurred in london we'd never hear the end of it.

Northern Power grid haven't even seemingly acknowledged the power cut here, let alone tried working on it.

Also, I never want to hear anyone moan about how men act when they can't get alcohol again.

Because women who can't get coffee are far, far, far, far worse.

You mean when that snowflake stops all traffic and a shopper slips over on oxford street and ruins their armani jacket. For those who live or lived abroad do other countries media concentrate on its capital and the surrounding few miles like ours does.

Only been without power for 37 hours now, it's grimmer than pools form.

Take mine down North Gare, but spends his time digging for rabbits with his arse sticking out of a hole in the ground...bloody terriers  Went back to the car park there the other morning to find five sheep round the car.... he never raised an eyebrow, they came over sniffing him I was gobsmacked he was indifferent. Told the wife and apparently his type are working dogs who actually sleep out with the sheep to deter foxes.
(That’ll explain his shotgun licence).

Wouldn’t blame the southerners, they don’t need it, they’ve all gone woke and nailed a wind turbine on their foreheads and a solar panel on each cheek, so there’s four.
I have no wish to know where they source their ‘gas’ from.

Worth booking a weekend break up there the next time a storm or heavy snow is forecast. Thats as long as i can pick who i share a room with.
