He's gone.

He was great for us.

He deserves a better send off than some of the sh*t we've seen.

Things went on behind the scenes - only the Chairman and Crow know - we can only guess, for now.

So let's just move on - thanks DC - cheers, thank you

Bristol was awesome and will live with all Poolies for ever

Well said. He got us promoted. Football team looked like they knew what they were doing. Home form was tremendous. Bristol was brilliant.
Good luck to him, except when he's playing Pools.

He’s gone, maybe what rankled was the manner of his leaving, but we all have different opinions/interpretations, so best left at that.
Water under the bridge now. Our next hero/incompetent is out there somewhere, such is football, fanaticism tempered by banality with humour thrown in for good measure.
May it never change.

agree. the record books show he is one of the few managers that ever gained promotion with pools. if and when he does come back to the vic i hope fans will not forget that.

for big dave.....

When you get what you want in your struggle for pelf,
And the world makes you King for a day,
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that guy has to say.

For it isn't your Father, or Mother, or Wife,
Who judgement upon you must pass.
The feller whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the guy staring back from the glass.

He's the feller to please, never mind all the rest,
For he's with you clear up to the end,
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may be like Jack Horner and "chisel" a plum,
And think you're a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the guy in the glass.

Was going to post that, but decided he isn't even worth typing about.

I was thinking more along the lines of ..... ‘The King’ aka the Right Reverend Dave, has left us to do unpaid missionary work in the blighted lands of the National League in an act of selfless sacrifice to help those clubs who need guidance and spiritual aid and assistance in these troubled times. God spoke to the ‘King’ /Reverend Dave, and said ‘Go forth and help lift the stagnant gloom of Stockport for they are poor and suffering’ and the king answered the Lords call. Amen.’ And the Lord was pleased when the call was answered and the Sainthood of ‘St Dave of Teflon’ in the parish of ‘Whitewash’ was bestowed .

In answer to the original question...yes.
He was just another managerial sand castle washed away by the tide of change.

I would have much preferred "Pools Surplus Store" or even "March the Tailors"

Well, at least Pools Surplus Stores still exist, but as they've only got 2 branches (the other is in Bishop Auckland), naming rights to the Vic was probably a bit out of their league.

This is a coup for the club to be honest, 3 year deal with an expanding national brand with a genuine Hartlepool connection

https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/news ... t-stadium/

Goes without saying that the fans will carry on calling it the Vic regardless.

thats a good job as the club shop would be unable to provide their most popular pasties.
