Oh that was uncomfortable given subsequent events.
All those heartfelt gushy sentiments, the compliments, the belief...evaporated.

To speak with a forked tongue means to tell lies, to not be truthful, to be deceptive. To speak with a forked tongue may be interpreted as saying one thing but meaning another. It is an insult to tell someone that he is speaking with a forked tongue, as it is the same as calling someone a liar. Almost all authorities believe that the metaphor of a forked tongue refers to the forked tongue of a snake.

Aye, it begs the question from me as to why this "behind the scenes" sequence has been raised by Mrs Challinor.
A few short weeks after he said all that to Chandy, he is gone and she is saying it's not just the money as if to say he was virtually forced out by circumstance.
He's nearer home, he's had a substantial pay rise, the same length of contract virtually as what he had here, why couldn't he just point to all that and simply say that is why he's leaving.
There was no need to hint at " behind the scenes " pressure at the club, fuelling speculation among us fans, presumably to deflect any criticism away from himself.
That is what I'm not happy with.
It's never his fault. We win and he's fist pumping with the crowd, we lose and he's straight to Chandy to publicly slag off his players. He does a deal with another club but it's not just for the money it's because of other things. Aye go on blame the club.
In his interview at Stockport he said he had built the affinity with the Pools fans.
Well Mr Challinor you have smashed any affinity you had with this fan.
Some people are saying that Sweeney will have learnt from DC. Watch the interview with Tony that he gave last night, Davie boy, and you will certainly learn something.

You’re right, looks like crude deflection. Must have wanted a Teflon exit ?
