Like his criticism of Rhys Oates leaving without saying goodbye? There’s a right and wrong way to do things. I mean Rhys hadn’t signed a three year deal. If he wasn’t happy he shouldn’t have signed it. He should get slated for the way he has handled this.

you’re still a non league outfit until you get out of the Quicksand League.
Come back when you’ve actually achieved promotion eh, till then you’re nobody.

Am I right in thinking Hartlepool have never been higher than the third tier? Seems a bit silly trying to get into a pissing contest.

He may well secure consecutive promotions with Stockport. He may not. But a mid-table finish or more here was the gateway to L1 for him. Naturally speaking out of pure disappointment here - and I’m sure there’s more to this than meets the eye. Thank him for the promotion. Feel rather sick at the fact he’s left us only a small portion of the way into his first season in FL with us.

The contracts in football are an utter farce. The delays. Then the adulation when he finally signs. Within weeks, unhappy and on his way.

We have one hell of a job on our hands here now. That’s for sure.

Am I right in thinking that after 10 years in non league football Stockport can safely be classed as a pillar of that Division...your league status is a long was behind you, you sound Like Miss Haversham in Great Expectations waiting for her suitor to turn up but he never does. But like her you keep hoping.

We rally round and get behind the team and the club goes on. Turns out the Messiah wasn’t a Messiah after all. :angry-tappingfoot:

Am I right in thinking that Harltepool have never been stuck in non league for more than 5 years?

And have never been below the National League... And have never not made it to the first round of the FA Cup.

Nowhere near as long as your ‘established’ team. We actually escaped but it’s warm embrace seems to appeal to you. Lack of ambition does that. May be Dave can help.

I am extremely grateful for what he has done for us, getting us back in the league with very little resources. However, he has just done the same as what he called Rhys Oates for.

As Snowy said - "Turns out the Messiah wasn’t a Messiah after all".

He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

We get on with it by beating Wycombe Saturday, if we don't do that we do it against Newport, one things certain we can't do any worse away.

Been following all this with interest and particularly am close with Derwent's comments. I am not in Hartlepool so have tended to let those nearer to the action have the say as i believe they know more about situations on the ground than I do. I've seen Pools play Stockport County a few times and always thought we were similar in some respects. Yourselves, Bury and Rochdale who we have played loads of times over the years. I hope that County don't languish in that god forsaken league much longer along with all the proper old football league clubs who have had the misfortune to go there. It doesen't seem five mins ago that Southend United were playing in the championship along with Stan Collymore. Times change. Regarding DC and this ongoing situation. My general view is if a player or manager is unsettled or unhappy then they leave with my blessing and thanks. The bunker, Pools, the Town End and all the fans and the rest of it will be here long after they are history. Will we ever be told the full story here? After all this is Pools. Don't know about this Everton crowd the morrow but The Beast Akinfenwa worries me at the moment. Love that guy but hopes he takes a rain check for Saturday. Nuno is now available folks. Only joking or am I?

Blimey, Stockport was a hole of a place last time I went. Before the train station was refurbished, you left via the back exit and stumbled past a pub offering Jelly wrestling on a Friday afternoons. (mid 2000;s if memory serves me correct)

The game was dire, fans being forced to sit in seats with pillars in the way blocking the view. At one point the stewards had a pop at a poolie and it got a bit heated. Not a great place to go by any stretch. Much preferred the trips to Crewe.. at least their fans had a pint with you after the game, no matter the result.

An ‘hatter’ with a clear mind, well done sonny, your honesty is refreshing.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side. If he fails to get them promoted they'll show him the door this time next season just like they did Rusk. No loyalty in Football, there will never be another set of fans that will get behind Dave the way we did. Best of luck, pressure's on, we all know what happened to the first money club he managed.
