Challinor seems incapable of getting us results away, is he really as great as we all think? Maybe it's him that can't hack the football league, so goes for non league safety.

Remember as they say you are only as good as your last game so if DC legs it before tomorrow nights game.........

Orient 5 Pools 0

Dont want him to stay now cos it just seems like he will leg it anyway given the chance.

Mail reporting he took training this morning - wonder if they can chase him down for comment or will he be back across to the NW to sign some paper work :|

Scunny just sacked their manager also - Stockport you are free to have that Stone Cold Steve Austin look alike Mofo

I would. We know the drill - it's the hardest league of them all to get out of. One automatic promotion place then the play off lottery.

like in the song "You don't know what you've got till its gone" DC should have been given a financially lucrative contract to stay until project finished because there are some big clubs over here in the North West that may be looking for Managers shortly!

He’s worthy of a better job than Stockport if he can get us in the playoffs. He knows that. Stockport lol

it would of been much the better sentiment had he gone to a Bolton or another big club with a big passionate fan base (like Pools). Half the Shitport fans probably closet Man Utd fans anyways, really only started taking interest when they got back in NL and had some cash to play with. FOOLS !

Then when someone offers an even better financially lucrative contract than yours he’s off. This is a game of silly buggers money, we can’t go on like that.
To offer a 3 year contract at this level, which he took his time over and accepted, is good at this level.

The first offer was below L2 standard. Current one about the average apparently.

The silence is deafening. Just put us out of our misery!!

What?
If it was your money would you be happy to splash it about Willy nelly because fans tell you to? Of course not. There’ll be a budget and when you start getting too loose with the purse strings you’re shafted.
No matter how much you offer a manager, some other club will have more to offer, game over.

Ironic that this post was started by that what’s his name....er.... Bra Daddy85.
Resulting in his ‘non-league ‘club’ Stockpot being well slagged off.
Classic self inflicted wound syndrome.

That's why he was allowed to carry on, Snowy. No true Poolie would slag off the Town and it's people like he has done. You've got to be bright, intelligent and have your wits about you to be a proper wind up merchant. He has none of those attributes which is why he comes across as a silly billy.
We've had a bit of entertainment out of it though.
It has been like it used to be.......repelling boarders.

Best Scenario is DC stays gets some decent backing in January.
Then hey presto we qualify for the play offs.
I know social media aint the real world.
Could be plenty of humble pie being consumed come what may.

Sorry, no chance in my opinion. We’d be looking over our shoulders every time a club lost it’s manager.

He’s currently 20/1 for Barnsley’s next gig. So he’s not far off consideration. Those odds will come right in with a decent season under his belt at pools.

With a game tomorrow night you’d presume there will be some comms on the situation as it stands.

Their ‘Dom scurr’ is currently saying reports of alternatives are untrue. It’s Challinor and it’s all about negotiations with our owner. Could well turn into a bit of a saga this one…

If they want Raj to give the deal the nod, they will have to give him what he wants. I'm surprised DC hasn't told them that.

I have been supporting Pools since 1952 and I am fully aware of our niche in the great scheme of things. I have seen good managers come and go, good players come and go and I hold no bitterness towards any player or manager trying to better themselves. Guess where Brian Clough started his managerial career.
In this case I think Challinor is making a mistake. I often refer (rightly or wrongly) to the non league as oblivion and was in despair when we joined them but four seasons later we are back from that nightmare. Your team has been away from the football league for ten seasons and living proof how difficult it is to get back. Wrexham's record is worse than yours.
I can understand any young up and coming manager cutting his teeth in oblivion but I'm struggling to understand why anyone would want to leave a top half league two team to go back to the lottery that is the national league.
We are slowly but surely building something here and are aiming to become, once again, capable of competing in league one. It is only a succession of dubious owners who deprived us of that status but now we have an owner who isn't in the dubious category. Are Stockport County really capable of achieving better than that. Are you heading higher than league one on any sort of consistent basis. Both of our clubs have been in and around each other ever since I got involved in football and I have been to your ground umpteen times. Yes there are purple patches but you are currently the owners of a ten year consecutive sojourn in oblivion. How many ten year periods have you spent in the top two tiers????
I haven't checked this but I can't remember of any occasion where a manager has willingly left our club to go to non league or even a division below.
That is the bit I am struggling with.
I knew that one day DC would leave but I always expected it would be to league one at least.
Instead he is going to a club who could be sacking him in six months and you are getting someone who is demonstrating he will go for a better deal without a glance over his shoulder.
I can't express bitterness over that scenario but neither am I surprised if I were to be brutally frank with you.
I've seen it all before, many times over.
We'll see if the match was made in heaven in due course.

I'm curious to know how exactly Darlo would be a better prospect... That just sounds like an objectively brain dead opinion to me to be honest but I'd like to hear why you think that.

There are two clubs slightly north of us, one plays in red and white stripes and the other in black and white stripes who have a record of massive fan bases. Newcastle's gates are regularly over 52000. Their last major domestic trophy was in 1955 when they won the FA Cup. Zero since although that might change in the not too distant future.
Sugar daddy's are the answer unfortunately not large gates. You currently have got the finance. Your massive support failed to impress, as did your team, in the play off semi final. A lot of things come back to bite people, especially when sugar daddy's get fed up.

Nothing to do with away teams bringing a few fans? I thought you were some big club. Imagine how many we would get if someone started splashing the cash? We're getting 5500 and haven't even had a centre forward for most the season. Let's see if your averaging 1000 more when Challinor loses against a Barnet or someone ? Oh forgot you did that the other week didn't you?

Tradition is funny isn't it... I'm 30 and in my lifetime that has absolutely not been the case. The idea that a club who cannot get promoted because their stadium is so poor and even when they were in a 25,000 all seater were getting crowds of 3,000 in league two are "a better proposition" is hilarious to me. The distant past does not always inform the future and in modern times they've done nothing at all.

It would take a 5 year old 2 minutes to check that that statement is just not true, although you can believe it in your own 5 year old mentality world.. if you wish.
The only 2 decent crowds you have achieved this season were against Grimsby and Wrexham, and that was probably because they both filled the away end.

The bloke has no affiliation to Hartlepool, he’s from the NW. Raj insisted on him staying on the cheap so it was a matter of time before someone came along offering proper money. The offer came from a NW club so for DC it’s a no brainer; he’s looking out for his family.

Thank you Dave for your efforts and getting us out of that god awful league and best wishes for the future.

Oh dear. That’s disappointing from DC. Thought he’d have more ambition. I presume he is suspended for breach of contract. Illegal approach from Stockport. They’ll buy their way out of that. Ah well we move on and will watch with interest. We’re a club in the up so expect a lot of applications.

Trigger happy Stockport might sack him within a year, then what? Taking a huge risk. How many lower league teams will now not touch him with a barge pole, when he jumps ship first chance he gets?

you’re still a non league outfit until you get out of the Quicksand League.
Come back when you’ve actually achieved promotion eh, till then you’re nobody.

Thank you Dave for your efforts and getting us out of that god awful league and best wishes for the future.
