Sounding increasingly like he’ll be dabbling with a different transfer budget alltogether

Before Friday I thought he was happy here, ah well.
If he goes, he’d better start winning ASAP, big money owners and the fans, expect results to show for their investment.
I feel deflated and let down.

Fans couldn’t have done much more for him too. Granted he’s done a stunning job but feels a little half-baked that he jumps ship not even 1/2 way into his first season in the football league.

Think we need to remember raj can also say no, he doesn't have to let anyone speak to Dave. Big test really for raj to see how ambitious he really is at pools can he keep hols of Dave and can he find us an elusive forward in January.

Anyway if Dave holds on another month a much bigger club than Stockport will crop up namely Wrexham.

I appreciate the fact he could try to hang onto him, but you’d have one resentful ‘employee’ and that’s no good to anyone. I’d always opt for letting them go, no point in hanging onto someone who doesn’t want to be here. Or as me Dad would say’ They can fuck right off’. He had a way with words.

Like you say Snowy, he goes there knowing full well it’s promotion or bust.

Consolidation with pools in the footy league and he could easily have been given a go at a league 1 club or higher. He’ll be minted, but no further forward in his career taking this step.

Just as a matter of interest, were yesterday’s players aware of developments pre match?

A Stockport journo has said the deal might have collapsed for Challinor.

Did the players know was my first question. I suspect they did.

With your record on previously claimed 'inside information' I'm almost reassured to see this prediction. Working on the principle that a stopped clock is right twice a day you might just get lucky tomorrow.

Been looking at the Stockport boards - they're not exactly bowled over with enthusiasm at the prospect of Dave Challinor taking over. One fan says it'll cost them £100k to buy him out of his current contract - no doubt that's a guess too.

The post match interview cut abruptly, presumably as DC said something they didn’t want going out on the club’s YouTube channel.

Whether this goes through or not, there’s definitely going to need to be some comms from the club. We’ve potentially lost our cult hero, a mere few months into our returning season in the FL.

I think we really have to wait and see, hard though that is, before animosity, resentment or anything else sets in.
I think the club could stop all this speculation by stating whether they have had an approach from another club and have given/refused permission for negotiations to take place.

Chesterfield did it recently with their gaffer and an approach from Southend.

Rumours gathering traction. Pools make a statement.

Thing is Mr blue he has got a team with no forwards and a dreadful away record into the top half of the league, I'm not sure on our budget we can get anyone near as good, it be no surprise if he goes we lost all 3 forwards from our team last year, whether they were out players or not, an assistant and even a physio signs aren't great.

Yes it is my birthday and I’ve had all the Halloween jokes but it’s all just a laugh.
Only thing is, you can’t go out for a meal because the pubs are full of cobwebs and kids.

Trouble is now, the doubts have set in and we can’t go back to what we had a week ago.
I’m not angry or resentful, but deeply disappointed at the way things have panned out.

If they want to go, regardless of what the cub wants, no point in standing in their way. They might have given permission but even if that were the case I’d keep it quiet in case it fell through. The clubs on an hiding to nothing with this one.

Full thing stinks. Let’s have it right… we’ve been made to look like right twats here.

Even Jeff’s tweet regarding DC remaining at Pools adds another level of humiliation to this news.

We can make all the excuses under the sun he wasn't really backed this year, no wonder he is probably going to go, fans have said we had no chance signing Armstrong, Oates or even Bennet facts are they played with us for months and we didn't even get a sniff, then Challinor said the team would be ready for the start of the season, it was nowhere near ready, then he said we will be ok at the end of the window, we weren't. He probably realises this is as far as he will take us. He probably thinks like a lot of us that January will be no different trying to get players on the cheap, so although I feel let down and sick he is possibly going, can we blame him when he can walk into a team with 3 or 4 top strikers, while we wait for a young lad from Millwall who might not even be here in January.

Probably because no one wanted him when he eventually signed. Let's be honest it took some reading over that contract, what was it two months or so?

Please elaborate on what has been bubbling for a while ? Come on this is what these message boards are for. Bit of chewing the fat and some rumours. Halloween really is looking grim tonight should the rumblings from my mate are correct. Unfortunately gents im afraid the king has left the building. More than gutted to be honest. Really didnt see this happening till at least the end of the season. Hill also gone with him. Seems it was all in the plan. Judas buggers

The quotes regarding other clubs interest not materialising suggests it didn’t matter too much which club came in. The motive was always there… to leave. Contract not worth the paper it was printed on.

Long live the king my arse.

Stockport reporter and Stockport Fanzine now saying it's a done deal and he will be in charge by Saturday. Another saying it's to be announced tomorrow.

Either way, one set of fans are going to look very foolish next week (us with the Stelling tweets or the Stockport journos and inside men saying it's a done deal), I obviously hope it's the Stockport fans and reporters but I've got a bad feeling.

I don't feel the same about him as our manager anymore and I just want him gone now.

No doubt when he is presented to the Stockport fans and press he will say that they are the only club he has ever wanted to manage blah blah blah...

Can't be a done deal when our Chairman has turned the approach down.

We’re talking about our little old Hartlepool here Snowy. We’re hardly a big club like Stockport. Bruce would bring the much needed relegation battle experience we’re now going to need.

I’m a realist. Stockport and the likes are simply much bigger propositions. We’re punching at the moment and now DC is leaving to bigger and better things that should put paid to any fantasy about us competing at this level.

I look forward to them filling the away end if they ever get promoted, then again were talking about Stockport here so maybe a quarter fill it.

Not sure what that’s supposed to mean? We truly have some of the most inbred fans I’ve ever come across. Delusions of grandeur come to mind. If we’re honest with ourselves we are a nothing team who no one (much bigger clubs like Stockport included) really pays any interest in. We have a sh!t ground, live in one of the biggest sh!tholes in the country. Sh!t fan base. Tumbleweed forum, best we can hope for is to stay punching in league 2. We really are an embarrassing little club.

As much as it pains me I for one don’t blame DC for jumping to a bigger, proper club.
