I think Jeff's "outbursts" last week when we came from two nil down to a win against Harrogate had something to do with this. Sky are only interested in the premiership and I'm betting he was reprimanded.
The day when all fans of clubs outside of the premiership kick sky ( and others ) into touch will be the day when football returns to the fans.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the ‘replacement’ ticks all the boxes for the new sanitised role. They seem to be appealing to an audience that doesn’t exist, more dinner party’s in Islington than the terraces.

I honestly think the entire scoreshow format has past it's sell by date. When they first came about in the 2000s, even lower league highlights were rare. Coverage of some clubs would be a quick blurb on a local news station. Not everyone had the Internet either. You couldn't exactly find out the score between say, Hartlepool and Leyton Orient as quick then than you can now (almost as quick as the goal goes in).

It was the same with s.o.c.c.e.r AM. Years ago you never saw wondergoals, goalie mistakes, or dogs attacking players in the Brazilian Third Division unless you happened to live in Brazil, now the internet has that short "viral video" market cornered as well.

I don't have Sky and have only watched the BT scoreshow equivalent sparingly, but it's very poor. And other than Peter Crouch and Micah Richards I rarely find any pundit entertaining.

We'll all be biased, but I always found Jeff naturally funny and interesting, especially when partnered with Chris Kamara. These days the presenters all annoy me, except Colin Murray.

well jeff will be remembered long after the new box tickers come and go. not just with poolies but with thousands of fans. you cannot buy or invent a personality. you either have one or not.

if you want someone who thinks they are an expert on football and petty crime you need to look no further than a scouser or a scott.

From now until his last show Stelling should talk proper 'Artlepudlian and not that poncy accent he's adopted for the telly.

He should also say "who you looking at chore" at every opportunity, stick the nut on a few of his colleagues and eat Morrell's pork pies and savaloys from that butcher down the Headland whenever the camera is on him.
