Looks like some substance to this. DC spotted at Carrington accompanied by Robert Elstone this evening!

If there's any truth to this - and I'm far from convinced there actually is - then surely Raj Singh can take the piss as much as he likes when it comes to how much it'll cost Stockport...?

Unless there's some shitty Football League rule that caps such payments, he should ask for a totally fucking stupid amount of money.

At least enough to pay for a few flights on Richard Branson's spaceship....

Replying to my own question here, but who saw him, because there’s more parts falling off this than a China shop in an earthquake.

I bet Stockport's owner has a helicopter so the distance between the 2 is probably a 20 minute flight if that. So it's possible he was seen in Stocky at say 5pm and then in Durham at 7pm

Absolute bollocks, you’re talking 97 miles as the crow flies, add on prep time, getting to site of landing at either end and you’re 20 minutes is looking quite a bit wide of the mark.... in fact nowhere near it.

I did consider having a more aggressive reaction to the post but piss taking and winding up by other club's fans is all part of the fun, simply because we have the right of reply and to show we are just as good, if not better, at it.
Having said that I completely understand your reaction Mr Eiphos but I would be reluctant to throw somebody out for trying to wind us up. It wasn't really a very good attempt at it to be fair.

As someone who has both been a passenger & pilot of a helicopter your comments are completely "pie in the SKY"

Flight distance from Manchester to Durham is 13 minutes by plane and with an average helicopter speed of 160mph, yes, I was certainly slightly out on the flight time as it would be nearer 30 minutes. Won't bother to reply to Snowy who wanted to add extra time for this that and the other when flight times mean just that.

So I re-affirm that supposedly being seen at Stockport's training ground at 5pm DC could have quite easily be seen in Durham 2 hours later.

If I join Stockport to Durham using the ruler feature in Google Earth, I get an "as the crow flies" distance of 97 miles.

At 160mph that's 36 minutes and 22.5 seconds.

Your half an hour means at best Dave C could have landed on the car park at Burtree Caravans to the South-West of Newton Aycliffe.

Maybe he's buying their lass a Winnebago with his pay rise...?

Yeah don’t bother, that could be aircraft flight time but the time taken to get from point A to B also includes those little niceties at either end that give you the true journey time door to door as opposed to just time in the air, the way you’re talking you sound like James Bond’s stunt pilot.
Why bother mentioning aircraft speed anyway? it’s an alleged helicopter we’re ‘discussing’. Did the chopper pick him up outside the ground and land in Durham market place? And the average speed of 140 knots or 160 mph is just that an average.....I wonder what model DC was clinging onto.

Interesting choice of response for someone who isn’t going to bite wouldn’t you say?

Nonetheless DC was definitely at Carrington.....albeit briefly as has since been confirmed by a senior County figure. No need to shoot the messenger! It is happening though.

I must apologise, here was me taking this semi seriously then realise it’s a fantasy scenario in your head. Of course their ego rich owners have a helicopter ...or as they’re the new Bank of England club (according to their mastubatory fantasies)they’re that rich there’s probably a Tracey Island Thunderbirds complex hidden under the pitch and Blundebird 5 can whizz him up to Durham in 2 seconds...... or if it’s busy flying money into the club, one of the two seat Alibi Harriers can do the job, pick your colour. Oh dear.

61% of Tameside voted Leave.

And what does that have to do with football
anyway? Sounds to me like Stockport are sore losers on both the pitch and the voting booths!

10th anniversary coming up of their time in the National League, that would be the Tin Anniversary...so appropriate for a tinpot club.

I detect a somewhat envious and down right spiteful outlook on their new found riches. Let’s have it right us poolies would give up sleeping with our cousins if it meant having even half of their ritches.

Facts are they’re much the bigger club both before and certainly after their new found wealth. Think it’s time we accepted they can have their pickings of our best players/manager if they so choose and there’s nothing we can do about it.

I’m personally proud that a big club are looking at DC it shows how far we’ve come. Reckon big Steve Brucey will do a job when he comes in nonetheless.

This ‘post’ should be preserved and presented to prospective contributors to message boards as a severe warning of how NOT to do it.

This entire post is soooooo embarrassingly over done by a simple person (originally in crayon probably) and in such a frothily camp way, it hurts your eyes to read it. It’s either just the inane ramblings of a football masochist or someone who should be chased with nets for their own good. Turn yourself in son, do yourself and us all a favour.

The irony in that the same could quite easily be said to your above response. Bit OTT if you ask me pal but then nothing surprises me with our Poolie fanbase.

Coincidentally the phrases ‘embarrassingly over done’, ‘inane ramblings’, ‘should be chased with nets’ (I’ll swerve the frothily camp comment which is just plain odd by the way) epitomises the perception of our fans. Still....I’ll give you the benefit of doubt again as we’re all Poolies ain’t we.

Could do with one of those revolving doors at Victoria Park to keep DC. Alas looks like ours is free flowing. Still should be big enough for Brucey and his entourage.

And what does that have to do with football
anyway? Sounds to me like Stockport are sore losers on both the pitch and the voting booths!

Look, ALL Stockport supporters are loaded now so they probably voted remain and aren’t happy because they all have a converted 18 bedroom shepherds hovel or similar and can’t get over as much as they used to.

I must say, you appear to have an unhealthy interest in Stockport County. A bad experience at one of their games? Why are you so concerned, dare I say bitter, about some other bigger, wealthier club over in the North West? We seem to have a few in our fanbase that think this way.

If it’s because you’re in denial about DC leaving that’s understandable I guess but aside from that all very odd really.

Show some humility old boy. Admit you have an issue and like DC move on to bigger and better.
