Noticed the 2 celebrity owners of Wrexham took in their first game last night, a 3-2 defeat at Maidenhead, also leaders Grimsby lost at Wealdstone. Real leveller that league.

Jim Gannon was shit on by the board, Think it had a lot to do with his post match interview after we played them.
Seems to be calling out a certain player/s.

Carlisle have just appointed a fairly unusual manager - they are currently doing a Pools of old. Playing crap, Keeping crap in the side week in week out because they have been at the club the longest. Add to that they are bottom 1/4 of the table in worrying downward spiral and just sacked the manager and appointed a lesser known former manager of Örgryte in the Swedish 2nd tier with mainly caretaker experience. Feels so good to be a Pools fan just now.

They’d end up in ‘Dave Jones Locker’’.

He certainly gets involved with many sinking ships...he was actually one of the last people employed by Steve Dale before Bury got expelled from the EFL!

There's noise on Twitter to the effect that DC is going to Stockport and that there are ongoing negotiations with Raj re compensation. Jeez, I hope this is wrong.

Wont happen - DC will have something in his contract that as well as the compensation for wages to technically pay off the contract, there will also be something to ward off sugar daddy clubs. Especially with the ink barely dried on a fresh contract last month ! If Raj chooses a quick buck over the potential success DC could bring our club then ill be first in line to form the angry mob calling for his head.

All they would need to do would be to pay up his contract (£240k??) and arrange a compo fee. Not beyond the realms of possibility given they've spunked enough on players over the past couple of years.

Like everyone else, can't see it happening but it's not as though it's not possible for managers to be released from contracts, unless Raj asks for a ridiculous comp. fee.

I would be very surprised if he went at this time. He's got the contract he wanted, as well as a new assistant and a new physio. On top of that a new Chief exec, who is cementing relationships with local businesses, a Chairman who obviously has a plan and DC is a major part of that plan. Crowds are flocking to the Vic as well as away from home to watch the team he is creating and, last but not least, he is adored by the fans.
Why give that up on a gamble which takes him back to the national league that he has fought tooth and nail to get out of. He is now a league manager who is going places. If or when he goes he will go to better than Stockport County.
For me it will take a hell of a compensation deal to budge Raj and a hell of a contract from Stockport to shift DC. Everything is possible but I think now is too early.
For the first time in a long time I believe there is something happening at Pools and momentum is building which will take us within reach of the Championship again.
DC is part of that, a very big part of that.

Twitter rumours rife saying a ‘financial compensation package’ is all that stands in the way of Challinor becoming new Stockport boss. He wants the job. It’s on.

I'm not sure what went on in the past but Stockport fans don't like DC for some reason. If there is any truth in the rumours then Stockport owners were daft to wait until DC had signed his contract before sacking Rusk. Given his success at Pools DC is likely to be linked by Twitter with all sorts of jobs as they come up. It doesn't mean he's going anywhere.

According to twitter Jamie S had already signed for Notts County in the close season and we all know what happened to that.

DC is meticulous in his preparations and deliberations and any deal with him wouldn't be done overnight as it were.
He crosses every T and dots every I and things like budgets, salary, success bonuses, transfer decisions etc etc plus permission from Raj to start negotiations would all have to be waded through. Look how long contract talks with us lasted. DC doesn't make hasty decisions.
Don't forget his son Ethan is now at Durham Uni and is now a Poolie, as is Kate his wife.
Too much to go through before anything concrete is decided so I'm treating it with a pinch of salt until the club and DC BOTH confirm it.

His son could quite quickly become ‘a hatter’ I’m sure - and also enjoy the Range Rover his dad could now buy him to drive to Durham uni in!

The National League is a hard place to manage, even for experienced managers. It's a league where a mere 3 losses can leave you adrift from the playoffs, and even if you're in the playoffs your job still isn't safe.

No sane manager in the EFL should be wanting to manage in the National League. Its a very challenging league, and winning it would mean very little in terms of major achievement, at least in comparison to say winning league 2 or league 1.

People can say "what about money?". That rings true for players but I'd imagine most managers would want to stay where they are unless something bigger came along. I mean, if someone told me tomorrow a club like Bolton wanted Challinor I'd be concerned. But the fact is Bolton don't.

No doubt this post means fuck all however, as Chesterfield, Halifax or even someone like Solihull will sack their manager and Challinor will supposedly be "linked" again.

The Stockport fans dont like him - reading their pathetic ramblings on their many forums the consensus mainly seem to only want him due to the face hes done such a good job with us but still dont like him as a person from what seems like when he was a player / manager at Fylde and Pools. Like stated above the King is too meticulous in his decision making and i dont think we are going into the weekends game worrying about our manager departing us. His prep for the weekend will probs takes presidency over Stockports bullsh!t !
His sons in Durham which i can only assume was based on the decision his dads working so close by (same grounds in fact). Just seems like absolute wishful thinking by the twitter media mafia. Plus Raj probs wants 7 figures for the comp payment .. good old Raj ! you tell them to F OFF !!!

It took him 8 years to finally get out of the league from hell why would he even consider going back again. I'm sure there's only one direction he wants to head in.

I can’t believe he would take a backward step and go back into non league after finally getting out of it.

If he continues to do well at Pools, which I am sure he will, he could be looking at higher division positions, not lower. A northwest side in the championship perhaps…

It was said that Simon Rusk had 2+ years left on his contract which apparently was worth about £500,000 and if this was true his wage was in excess of £200k per year. A figure that DC isn't picking up?

Visited the site and read all six pages and got the predictable response of the herd, but sadly they all sounded like smug but dull 46 year old counter clerks in the North West’s only branch of the Kuala Lumpa Building Society taking a break from their searches for ‘love’ on the internet while their mammy makes their Ovaltine and an obsession with calling us a ‘Brexit Town’, so I assume they’re Lib Dem’s as well, to add to their woes.

Let’s break this down…

Another company offers you a 150% rise.
Offers you brilliant company benefits I.e an Unlimited transfer budget
Top notch bonuses
And scrap your commute while you’re at it, you live round the corner from head office.

This isn’t the premier league, it’s lower league footy. I hope he stays to see out the project here but don’t doubt that the sentimentality of remaining can be lost in amidst the disgusting amount of money lucky pricks like Stockport can Chuck about. This is pools after all

DC will leave one day.

I just hope its not just yet and it's a step up the football league.

Keep us up this season and finish in the top half of the table then if a league one or championship club comes around, then good luck to him.

If that's the case then he's already missed two golden opportunities, huge budget at Wrexham and convenience at Tranmere. If he wants even more convince, then he could always join Chester who, for their level, could probably muster an EFL budget and EFL level support if a good manager came in.

I remember when Challinor came to Pools, he stated Pools had better facilities than Fylde and roughly the same budget, which I always found interesting considering they were portrayed as richer than every other club in the division.

Let’s have a scenario that he leaves and goes to Stockport. A team rebuild will probably be on the cards and with the fans acting like they’ve come into money personally, will expect quick results from whoever turns up. Some fans rather naively assume once you’ve got a sugar daddy, success is automatic, after all, they’ve got money...but it doesn’t work out quite like that.
I suspect whoever gets the job will be on an hiding to nothing and the real manager will be the one who comes in after the manger they appoint now. Then when things don’t go according to their script, it’s goodnight Vienna.
A poison chalice if ever I saw one (not that I’ve ever saw a poison chalice you understand)

I detested Stockport before this Saga.. i hate them even more now. Pack of absolute fools. The Brexit craic is the worst. The inbred insults even worse, how anyone from a shithole like Stockport with absolutely nothing going for it can make that comment. Bitter and sad - they are clearly furious that they are propped up by a sugar daddy to only warrant a miserable mid table spot in the farmers league (pathetic !) Plus the fact we beat them nicely in the playoffs in their own back yard and clearly have the best manager that league has ever seen.
id be embarrassing really to have all that cash yet cant even get out of that league. Im sure Raj will request some sum of cash if they have been calling and that will put an end to that !

They've always been more bark than bite. Remember the day they were relegated into the conference north, one of their fans invaded the pitch and punched a Kidderminster player.

Looking at that forum, it seems Challinor is the most realistic name mentioned! It seems they mainly want Ryan Lowe. That's right, League One topping, ex-League two promoted Ryan Lowe.

They're absolutely deluded.

i hope they end up with our mate Dave - i hope he rocks up in a pair of Slazenger bottoms and slippers with last nights tea on his top. Stinking of pale ale and piss.
I then hope he signs 3 bog standard former prem players looking for their last pay packet and it cripples them and the fans. off to NLN you go you pack of deluded dogs.
