As Derwent said, the population figures are for Stockton Borough - never heard of a council yet that asked the government to redraw its boundaries to make it smaller, though Yarm Town Council did try to unilaterally attach itself to North Yorkshire County Council a while back.

The population of the town of Stockton as opposed to the local government area of the Borough of Stockton are two completely different figures is the point I was making.

Ryan Catterick in goal, former Pools reserve. Lost a load of weight and looks very good, they don't let many in. Think he could do a good job at Conference level now.

Yeah, they have Jack Blackford as well. Not the only ex poolie in FA cup action today either, Michael Woods at York and Ryan Donaldson and Liam Noble at Morpeth.

Not sure if it shows how much money has began to be thrown around at that level, or just how poor our side was from 2017-2019!

If Stockton were going to ever have a team at a decent level it would have happened by now... must be just happy drifting over to the boro.

mind you it took fleetwood a long time to get a decent team after years in lower non league. they made crawley and forest green look big clubs. its all about who has the most pound notes to throw around nowadays.

Can’t argue with you there, but it’s the mindset of these owners, it’s as if they need to buy a really small club and prove they’re so good by making something from nothing. It’s all about massaging their own ego, the football is nether here nor there.
I suspect they’d never invest in an established club with an history and crowd potential because they’d only be a part of the club’s story as opposed to being the one and only centre stage big man by starting with a clean sheet.
