Apparently it may revive interest on Star Trek...ker-ching.$$$$$$$$$$$
There was some odd looking geeky bloke on this morning from the Klingon Language School or something sounding like that, translating the reporters words....he had two huge hairy eyebrows that moved like copulating hairy caterpillars... as for the translating stuff...really?

used to enjoy star trek but could never understand why it seemed to take over peoples lives with daily quotes from the show in many peoples conversations.

“It’s life Jim , but not as we know it”...on an early cartoon in the Monkey Biz showing the Starship Enterprise flying over Feethams.
Wish I’d thought of it

Mega, mega, mega rich publicity seekers showing off their ‘toys’.
I saw them interviewing some woman scientist discussing the launch of a probe that will take 6 years to reach it’s area of research, which will then spend years ‘investigating’ orbital ‘rubble’ The scientists will be monitoring it full time for years to come.

Now call me a cynic, but if I was one of those scientists, I’d be thinking cushty, a long term contract... are these just job creation schemes..,?

A few years before he died Stephen Hawking said there was no long term future for Earth and the most important task in the next 100 years was colonising Mars and other planets.

Looks like the super rich are taking him at his word. Today space tourism, 10 years down the line privatised space stations, after that, who knows?
