We are rubbish in the final 3rd, so much possession but lack of control, poor or too late final balls and forwards shooting instead of passing to each other when the other is in a better position, Doh! We should have had a couple goals in 2nd half already with 20 to go, Doh!

Managed another 'win' of sorts with the penalty shoot out. But no goals again from any forward.

Good win on pens, we destroyed Morecambe in the 2nd half and should have bagged a load of goals based on attacking possession. Mols made s big difference, great assist and nearly another cracker like his goal at Carlisle, unlucky with pen right at the end but made up for it in the shootout. Well done Pools good run out for a few of the fringe 1st team and hopefully DC gained more info on them

Cook Ogle Daly Mitchell had good games. Goodwin worked his knackers off and got himself into a great scoring position but Cullen got greedy and ignored a simple pass to put him in. I thought Cullen was a bit slow and lacked confidence in front of goal. It's so frustrating to see so many chances go begging but it is what it is............unfortunately.
Molyneux looked very sharp when he came on.

Good win (or draw) against a league one team. Not sure how many players they rested compared to ours, but I am happy.

Cullen clearly still a bit off but he takes up the right positions and his link up play was good. I thought he did that well on Saturday too.

I think at the moment we need to change systems to make molyneux the best he can be

they rested the same number as we did. makes you wonder if there was a phone call between DC and their manager to decide how many would be rested.

it even looked a good game watching it on the laptop. think a few are missing out because of their thoughts on the value of the trophy itself. used to feel the same as i have never seen one live myself. a few lads had good games especially daly who was more involved than usual and had his best game so far for us.

It's not the trophy I have an issue with, its the EFL academies.

People can't bemoan a super league whilst happily allowing academy sides into a competition that was intended for smaller clubs to enjoy a day out at wembley.

at the moment these sides just seem to make up the numbers. the problem will be if say everton u 21 side play their man.city equivelents in the final. could then end up that the national league may ape the scottish lowland league by allowing B teams like celtic and rangers into it. do know some that swerve the acadamy sides but watch this competition when fellow league clubs play.
