morrisons in keighley must have received some fuel last night. at 7.45 this morning the area was totally gridlocked with queues in my direction a mile long. its usually so quiet its one of those speed camera hotspots catching drivers in a rush for work. once our two cars get the fuel light on that will be it till normality returns and we,ll use a corner shop for essential food and the dogs will have to miss there moorland walks.

Is anybody in this area having trouble. Yesterday I passed numerous petrol stations that just looked normal day to day business.

It's easing off down here and pensioners have enough for a month now.

My neighbour was complaining that he could only get £2-43 worth in his tank but was charged £5 as that is the minimum delivery. Ha.

How awful just imagine not having a driver to do such tasks!

After viewing many message boards, websites and speaking to people, it seems the "national" fuel crisis is limited to London and Kent. Although I do suppose the BBC don't acknowledge anything north of those regions anyway. I heard it was bad in Bradford for a while but even that seems to have calmed down, at least where my extended family are anyway.

as long as things are fine inside the M25 then the country is fine by the media. think a lot of the fuel problems has not been helped by the limited number of places selling the liquid gold nowadays. cannot remember the number of petrol stations closed in hartlepool since 1970 with far more cars on the road. all i can is the small town in yorkshire with a population of 17,000 had. 6 and now down to 2. in less than a 3 mile journey into halifax you past another 6 where there is now only 1. no wonder there are queues.

Good point about the garages, now I’ll be trying to remember how many there were for example in the 80’s.
Those gone are....
Fens Garage
Lodge
Shell in Catcote Road
Shell at B&Q roundabout
Two garages at Travellers opposite side of road.
Mainsforth Terrace, now the taxi place
Brus garage.
L&P in York Road
anymore I’ve missed....?

But we didn’t have ASDA,TESCO and 2x Morrison’s who probably have more capacity then a lot of them closed put together and of course a lot cheaper.

Drove from Dorset to Gateshead last Friday, & judging by the volume of traffic, lengthy stretches of temporary speed-limits on motorways, & the number of HGV's on the road, you wouldn't think there was a shortage of either fuel or HGV drivers.

The worst place to be on a late Friday afternoon is heading North on the M1.

Heading north on the A1 isn't that good either.
Friday tea time is always a problem simply because during the week people leave work a bit later to avoid the congestion. On the other hand they leave as early as they can on Friday in order to get ready for the night at the pub or to get home early for the weekend.

they said that could happen at the outset. even BP came out with a statement that it should be avoided if you are not completely sure your can is compatable with the stuff. all ethanol can be removed from petrol but you,d need a dry space to do it in and although its not complicated its messy and time consuming.

I’d rather they insulated ‘Insulate Britain’ with industrial spray foam and do us all a favour.
Incidentally, over the summer five houses near us have been insulated, it’s there for free in most cases if you want it, what’s the fuss?

This new E10 stuff made my car sound awful. Like a rattling, tappetty sound. I now put the E5 97 octane in it. It costs a bit more the car seems to do a bit more MPG.

What next Heathrow blocked because the 24 strong group ‘We Want Our Bins Emptying Weekly ‘ kick off ...and the three strong ‘ Longer Hours Opening at Our Library’ have taken hostages... that’s how banal this is.

what does anyone expect in 2021 when blokes who download and watch the vilest form of child porn get off. play the mental health card and you have kids to look after and you,ll be fine. be really interesting what will eventually happen to that waste of oxygen katy price when her trial comes up.

when you are dealing with these protesters always remember a statement one of their leaders came out with. when asked what he,d do if an emergency ambulance wanted to get through what would he do. reply was that he,d remain seated. remember that folks if you come across them. yt could have been you, your family or friends in a life or death rush to the hospital. if no one is looking put the boot into the bastards.

I think people should make a parody protest group, that block police stations due to the lack of Mr. Blobby on television.

Would love to see how tolerant the police and government are then. I'm shocked no one has lamped an insulate britain protestor yet.
