How come when I cut the ace of hearts
You always draw the ace of spades

One of my all time favourite songs. Ronnie Lane.

Newcastle's last trophy was 1968. 53 years ago!

It’s like a religious cult up at Newcastle, every year they await the arrival of the Messiah with his gifts of glory and success to be showered upon them and every year as the season unfolds his train drives straight through their ‘station of anticipation’ without stopping, emptying the toilets at 80 mph and ‘showering’ them with shite.
Take the hint lads.

not sure about that. heard them mentioned more than once in the list of difficult games coming up for teams no matter what their actual league position is.

Manchester United acting like theyve won the Champions League after winning a group game against a Spanish equivalent of Burnley. Maybe Tottenham aren't that deluded anymore

I blame Howard Wilkinson for coaching managers etc in order to gain their UEFA badges.

Nearly everyone sets their team up to play the same way and you end up with boring negative football.

Of course the League (And Club Chairman) say the UEFA coaching badge are needed - what a load of round balls!

Maybe that was Howard’s plan all the time... .... as for him being a coach, he couldn’t coach a bowel movement after a meal of rancid horse shite.

Newcastle will struggle to avoid success for much longer if the Saudi takeover finally goes through, as some papers are predicting will happen now that the dispute with Qatar over sports broadcasting has finally been settled.

Apparently the Saudis will be investing hundreds of millions of £ regenerating the North East as part of the deal, so the Tories will be leaning on the Premier League to pull its finger out and get the takeover approved a.s.a.p.

Would happily accept investment from the Saudi's in the northeast and anyone refusing based on principles is a moron.

The Yanks, Israelis and Chinese have done far more war mongering than every Arab state combined.

Mind I don't buy the tories wanting to help with it. Theyll probably be looking to start a war with saudi arabia now.

Not a magpie yet after years of tinpot southern clubs like Reading, Chelsea and the Vegans I'd LOVE to see Newcastle buy every trophy.

i,ll believe all this stuff when it actually happens. talk is the easier than actions. i would hate pools to become foreign owned as if anything did go wrong it would be at the vic. if i was a mag i,d think the same.

I'd much rather have a foreign owner than Gary Coxall again though

Well that didn't take long! The takeover has gone through today:

"Newcastle United have confirmed the club’s takeover by a Saudi Arabian-led consortium, ending Mike Ashley’s 14-year ownership.

The controversial £300m deal received Premier League approval almost 18 months after it was first proposed. It hands the keys of St James’ Park to owners capable of transforming Newcastle into one of the world’s wealthiest clubs and follows the news that Saudi Arabia has lifted its four‑year ban on sports channel network beIN Sports."
