Yes a 6 ft 5” shithouse shotstopping League 1 standard keeper would be lovely.

Any keeper who can actually save a shot on target would be good.

please send all names of these to DC. never rated killip but those who have replaced him were no better.

Is Killip that bad? And what about Mitchell?

I thought Mitchell would have came here to be no1. Maybe DC is giving Killip his chance and until he starts making major blunders he will stick with him.

Killip is fine. If he wasn’t then Challinor wouldn’t play him.

No he isn’t, he’s patchy, he’s unpredictable and has never filled me with confidence, despite what you reckon Challinor thinks of him.

Like I said, he’s fine. 4 clean sheets in 9 this season and he had a good record last season until his injury. Numbers speak for themselves, really. I’m sure Challinor doesn’t really care for the opinion of Snowy from the Poolie Bunker.

He gets clean sheets when the opposition ain't to clever and our defence play out of their skins.
New keeper n Centre Forward priority for January Window.

Never rated Killip - he fills me with dread, rooted to his line most the time and doesn't make many worldy saves to compensate for that.

think i could still have kept a clean sheet in some of those games. the thing is how many games has he ever kept us in and if it was not for him pools would have been hammered. honestly i cannot think of one unlike the other way around.

I'm a bit worried about father time catching up with Liddle as well although we might be ok with what we've got. Have to keep an eye on that situation.
I was surprised that we didn't persuade Leicester to let Brad Young stay with us on loan. He is a big unit and likely to command his area.

Fully agree with Accrington. How many times have you said at the end of a game that Killop saved us or if it wasn’t for him we would have been hammered.
I know some supporters did not like Loach but he was man of the match regularly, ended up supporters player of the year once and players player of the year twice. Had his faults of course he did wouldn’t be playing at this level if he didn’t.

Kilip wouldnt of made the save at Bristol to get us promoted - he really isnt good enough. The fact he kept so many clean sheets in the NL was partly due to the fact we had an amazing defence and the opposition where turd. Same with this level, the defence has been incredible and kept the ball away from his Goal.
His flappy undemanding presence in his 6 yard box will cost us more goals (as it already has this season). I like the lad and think maybe he will be one of those keepers that come good with experience in their 30s. Mitchell deserves his chance as No.1 - the fact Derby thought he good enough for championship level speaks numbers for me.

Interesting enough JJ Hooper is training with us - he was one i mentioned on the free agent list that we should look at. Had a decent stint in this league before and played L1 with Port Vale i think too where he featured quite a bit for them.

Hooper has scored 17 times in 110 games for Football League clubs - that's not even a 1 goal every 6 games ratio. He's scored more freely in the National League but that's also true of the likes of Furlop.

As things are, it's not impossible Dave Challinor will take a chance on him, but I think it would be more sensible to persist with the 6 forwards Pools already have on the books and see if one of them finally clicks into gear - it took Oates long enough to last season.

What Mr C thinks of my opinion is irrelevant. It’s my opinion. In the same way he won’t be swayed by your Uriah Heep deference to him......

Did Derby think Mitchell good enough for the Championship? Only games he got were in Micky mouse cup games.

If the keeper came out and took a routine cross at Sutton and took a routine cross against Exeter we would be second in the league, with possibly the worst forward line we have ever had.

True, but Pools aren't in the Championship. He's played 65 games on loan for League One and Two sides in the last 5 seasons, 35 of them for Northampton Town last season.

What he said.

We have another taller keeping who looks promising (admittedly limited evidence) but should be given a chance if the No.1 keeper makes an error otherwise he will rightly get demoralised.

The worst case of not coming for a ball that should have been his was at Tranmere which cost us the points.

I agree Mitchell should be given a chance, all I’m saying is that Derby didn’t think him good enough for the championship.

he will not be the only player not good enough for the championship who could drop two divisions and do the business for pools. DC has not done bad signing players who have done well for us who were deemed not good enough for where we presently are.
