Is there anyway to find a listing of Pools admission prices back to the early seventies/ late sixties?

looking at the money i earned back in 90/91 against what i,d be earning now doing the same job i,d say under 15 quid should be the max.

A lot of years ago the admission price at the Vic was similar to the cost of a cinema ticket into the Odeon. We could do with a picture of an old poster or two which used to be see in various parts of the Town advertising the next match. I'm sure the prices were on there.

You never stop with this tiresome anti-Raj bullshit do you?

The most recent complete stats on League 2 match day admission prices I could find is for season 2017-2018 - 5 seasons ago, the year Pools started their spell in the National League. Have a look:

https://www.statista.com/statistics/538 ... ngland-uk/

20 clubs out of 24 were charging more than £21. The cheapest League 2 match day ticket was £20 - five years ago!

When are you planning to buy Raj out and how much are you going to invest in Pools? Failing that, how many multi-millionaires do you know who are falling over themselves to buy a football club?

If I was looking for a way to get ’rich’, buying a club like Pools would be way down the list of options I’d be investigating.

My best ever game at Hartlepool United. The famous Busby Babes. Full teams put out in those days. Admission was raised for big cup ties.

In 1962-63, my first season, I recall the kid's entry prices were a shilling for the first team games, & ninepence to see the Reserves. A couple of years later, my first Junior's season ticket was 30/- (£1.50) by which time the first team admission price had increased to one shilling six pence (£0.075p)

how much is it to go to the pictures nowadays. since watching the clockwork orange when it first came out in the 70,s i have seen more pools games at oldham than i have been to the cinema.

The average adult cinema ticket price in Donny is around seven quid.
My wife and daughter are on their way to the pictures as we speak, so I'll let you know the price they paid later this afternoon.

York City are charging £20 and that's in the National League North. Can say a lot bad about Pools off the field, yet I'd never accuse them of conning people.

The tickets cost them £6.99 each.

football is too expensive even for old gits like me. saying that it does not seem to stop thousands turning up for games all over the country. there are obviously a few who cannot afford the entrance fee in the same way some cannot afford to buy an overpriced house, foreign holidays and the rest. its not the cost of the gate money why i do not attend every game at the vic. its the price of fuel where even my diesel takes just under 4 gallons to do my round trip.

Yeah, if it was just down to the price of a ticket it would be a lot easier to attend but travel costs do make a significant increase to the overall cost.

But already looking forward to New Year's Day where the norm nowadays is give New Year's Eve a miss n have a good day of aleing n football the next day.

Seems to me that it has been 20 pound for years now, so you can't really claim about Raj.
Does anyone know what other clubs charge at your level?
There is always the option of buying a season ticket and making your weekly match cheaper if you are willing to make that commitment
Plus, the club does need money to survive.

The Raj quote was tongue in cheek humour.
This season is the first time in about 16 years where the pay on the day fans is at the same level as ST holders.
Deffo a New Generation of Youth n Family fans attending the VIC nowadays.
The future looks good.
Sunderland don't go up.
Boro go down.
Pools go up.
Party time Fantasy Football.

Can't argue with £20 considering. When you factor in the price of the full price season ticket it's touch and go whether you save much money if you just paid in on the gate every week.

Sure it was £2.50 in my first proper season in 89/90, then went up a couple of quid like Kevin Pooles Gloves said.

wommers said he things it was 2.50 in 89[90 at the same time it was over 60p a litre for petrol. funny how you do not think of the admission cost then or now but work out the cost of fuel to get there. fuel has only doubled but gate prices for most have gone up 4 fold.

One of the hostelries in our village has just announced that they have Birra Moretti on tap at £4.80 a pint and claim that they are the cheapest for miles around. When I was 18 I could get 48 pints of beer for that at two bob a pint. Cheaper still in working men's clubs.
When I moved here in 1978 petrol was 59p a litre if I remember rightly.
It took hundreds of years to get beer to ten pence a pint and its taken les than fifty years to get it to over 40 times that. Not everywhere but enough places.

think with fags and booze once a certain price is reached then they go one way quickly. always remember buying my first 1 quid pint. it was at the old den in the mid 80,s on a hot day and was despirate. Pubs and clubs quickly caught up and the rest they say is history.
