I think we should just be grateful for what we got out of him, which was promotion. He was a loan player who came in and did a job, even if he signed for another club he did us proud and we achieved our ultimate aim.
Maybe if we’d already secured promotion earlier he may have signed for us, but he didn’t and anyway life is full of ‘what if’s’... thankfully we got what we needed from him, promotion.

Yep totally Agree - he came in and turned the team around, got us goals, got us the goal in the final. Will be forever grateful to him. Glad hes showing his promise still at this level an bagging goals (hopefully none against us though).

Burey has already caught the attention - wouldnt be suprised to see a team at the top of the table come January want his services. Hoping we get the extension sorted regardless (or bring in another player exactly like him come Jan if hes not fit or goes back)

Luke could have been our player if we offered the right money but our budget is what it is. It's gutting but there are always going to be richer clubs, even in the same division and even if on paper they are actually a 'smaller' club.

I don't think Pools would have ever been in a situation to pay anyone £3,500 a week. That was pretty much top dollar for us when we were an established league 1 side, maybe Solano broke that briefly at a guess but I don't know what he was on. The fact Harrogate can afford to pay that (plus the other decent former championship players they signed) when they can't get 1,000 home supporters through the gates beggers belief and makes me wonder how they can pass FFP.

The catalyst for our promotion push, he was the striker so desperately needed. He had another move lined up and he took it, no ill will wished from me.

If they had to base their expenditure on earned income, i.e. gate money, they wouldn’t be in the league. They’re like a pampered pet, all cash, no fans.
Thing is, they’re like fireworks, they shine then fade when they’re discarded when the owners new interest comes along.

Absolutely. I'm sure he would have preferred staying but he has bills to pay like the rest of us so money has to come into play.

I believe the fair play payments do not apply if the players fee or wages are paid for from donations by the owner rather than loans or from the budget. This is how teams with sugar daddy owners are allowed to get away with it.

that is true but it should not be. actually the system works or is in place for the likes of harrogate, salford and div.1 fleetwood and is against clubs with higher gates that have been around for years without a rich owner. a far more level playing field should be around to make it harder from day 1 for the bankrolled f.c. doubt anyone will shed a single crockadile tear if one of these clubs end up like oldham or even worse.
