They always used to ! Drove me mad after the Carlisle game, as the winning ticket was ( I think ) 618. Guess who had 619 ?! No way of checking, just to make sure though.

Why don't they display it on the electronic board or write it on a blackboard and have some walk round with it?

The last part of your post reminded me of when groups of young schoolboys would take the blanket round at half-time collecting for some local charitable cause in the late 70s / early 80s.

For some reason we seemed to take great pleasure in hitting a 12 year old lad on the head with a well-aimed 10 pence piece, or a rapidly spinning ten-bob bit rather than it land in the blanket.

We were right evil bastards back then...
