Great atmosphere, bit of a scrappy game but Pools were the better side by a distance. Both our goals absolute pearlers - there's wasn't bad either but was their only shot on target!

5th in the table and still waiting to meet a League 2 side that are definitely better than Pools. Happy days!

Well deserved win.

Has the handball rule changed? I thought you got a straight red for blatant handball, well Clough's was the most blatant handbell I've seen since Thierry Henry's.

Great win, atmosphere was absolutely fantastic, dont remember the last time the vic was bouncing like that!. Looked solid again and if I'm not mistaken in 3 home games I only remember 2 shots on target against us. Well done pools and special mention for zaine angol, immense again!

Wasn't our best performance, but we fully deserved to win. Let's see if we can get that away form improved now. Great time to be a poolie.

it should be a sending off for scoring a goal with your hand in the same as with a defender who handles a goal bound shot. anyway he should have walked for the most obvious one i,ve seen for a long time. a memorable game for the atmosphere and out two goals. a scrappy game though but the only football on offer was from us. i,ve never had a problem with carlisle but could not watch the stuff they served up week in week out. was a throwback game from our non league spell. as for the gate, thought it was more than that and i,m sure there were more poolies present than the crawley game.

The Town End didn’t look that busy to be fair.

Remember under the Gibson era the crowd number was announced. Pools said 3000 when there was no less than 4500. The crowd just burst into laughter.

do pools count season ticket holders if they attend or not. know clubs that do and others that do not.

Believe it or not attendance has became quite the hot issue between anoraks and stattos lately! A lot of clubs aren't publishing attendance figures anymore, and even less are published for cup games. Luckily it seems that Pools do still publish them. From what I've gathered season ticket holders are only added to attendance if they attend but I could be wrong.

I think Pools attendance figures are pretty accurate, it's not like Arsenal, as they DO count every ST holder regardless if they ever plan to attend.

Whilst we lost on penalties I thought it was a great result from more or less a different line up from Saturday, it shows we have a strong squad.

I think we still get a point for the draw (at full time) .They get a point for the draw and a bonus for winning the shoot out.
 sctatchinghead

I'd say it showed we have a reserve team on roughly the same level as Carlisle's, which is no bad thing if they turn out to be promotion contenders, but that remains to be seen.
