Blown a gasket. Lost again 4-0 at home today to Woking in the N/L
Not a good start for Darlo either, currently bottom of the league.
What's going wrong there Mr.Sussex and Co?

It happens time and time again that losing play off finalists struggle in the following season. There was a club who lost 4-2 in the league one play off final in 2005 and were relegated the following season if my memory serves.

Scotty’s ‘leadership’ didn’t help.

Indeed. There's usually an internal issue when clubs form collapses so dramatically.

Yep, the National league is going to be a proper dog fight this season. Southend and Grimsby will find it a long, hard slog.

Neither did his signings mostly ex Sunderland players.

wrexham, chesterfield, notts county, stockport plus a sutton type surprise package even getting into the play offs will be a big achievment this season. there are going to be a few sad wealthy owners by may next year when their side fails to go up. would be great to see a couple like halifax and altrincham going up and leaving the big cash where they are.

It's ironic that Halifax are now complaining about reckless spending when a decade or so ago non league clubs probably thought the same about them when they flew up the leagues. Just goes to show theirs always a bigger fish.

The railway wall opposite the ground took some battering from anti-Scott graffiti which could be best described as ‘uncomplimentary’.

yes, but halifax is in yorkshire where any spending of money is regarded as reckless.

Surely a shit or bust season for Wrexham? Americans love a winner and if there's no transformation of their fortunes by promotion that Netflix series will only find an audience in North Wales...

there is a possibility that their fans may have more patiance than there owner. depends how much yankie bull shit is being thrown round by the wrexham owner and the affect it has on the fans.

I have to admit my guilty pleasure is checking up on how our old rivals in the league below are doing. Not suprising to see Chesterfield doing well with their forward line recruitment but strangely seeing Bromley churning out results too. Southend will struggle imo, alot of stronger teams now in that league. Notts and Wrexham the ones to watch for me. Then i suppose you cant knock Stockport either, as im sure they will be there or there abouts.

Just looked up the newest edition of BT's National League highlight show, according to the presenter we "cruelly" beat Torquay! even when we leave the league the bias doesn't stop!

We were mentioned within 30 seconds of the Stockport game kicking off the other night. Clearly upset they didn't get a Stockport v Torquay final.

typical southern commentators bias for me. they wanter torquay to go up end of. they do not exactly like stockport either but seems a better option than pools. sod virgo and bt sport. hopefully we,ll never be on their programmes again.

I think the sweetest thing about that playoff final was that everyone outside the north (except maybe Darlington but who knows) wanted us to loss.

Didn't Adam Summerton scream "Torquay have won it!" When Torquay equalised? I swear down he did but it's been removed from the highlights! Either way on the highlights he says "Hartlepool were back in the football league, until Covolan snatched it away from them".

Wanker.

not even a good wanker either. not that sure though everyone in the north wanted pools to win that game. its not as if we didn,t play decent football at the back end of the season either. pools didn,t just win games but played the better football throught em.

Whenever Pools are televised, the commentary team always seem to have us lined up as the supporting act also runs. It’s pathetic, tiresome and just plain lazy on their part.

I bought the live stream last night and the commentator from BBC Cumbria was totally biased and generally talked shite. I turned the sound off after half an hour.

Just under 6.5k at the Stockport v Grimsby game last night, decent crowd but boring 0-0 served up.

i was actually one of them. the game was utter shite without either keeper having a save to make. those who say there is no difference between the NL and Div.2 needs to have been at the vic on saturday and then stockport on tuesday night. miles of a difference even with a similar atmosphere that the fans tried to create. seen some dire games with pools but not too many worse than that was.

I find there is little difference in the kind of players, and even the kind of teams in terms of size, but the tempo and tactics are completely different. I find the NL an awful watch as a neutral, very slow, very cynical and passive agressive, lots of sides (cough dover cough) who know they won't win so why not give the opposition hell to steal a draw? Lots of time wasting and cheating abound.

agree with all that. they seem to concentrate more on not losing games rather than winning the. the three pools games i have seen this season have been certainly played quicker without all the players constantly getting behind the ball in a near permanent 5 5 0 formation when they do not have possesion of the ball.

yep, how many times did we see it last season when Pools where on the win streak and we would play a Kings Lynn away from home and they would cheat their way into a boring draw. A draw for alot of those tin pot sunday league teams against us was their FA Vase final.

What made it worse was the fact the really bad teams knew they didnt have to fight for relegation and being bottom of the league didnt matter. Makes me even more grateful now we are out of it.

When Crawley came to the Vic I was honestly shocked how rarely they spoke to the referee or feigned injury during tackles.

Then I remembered we werent in the National League anymore. The only two sides that ever impressed me in the National League were Bromley and Macclesfield.

we might have been lucky so far with the teams we have played but there has been no comparison to the crap served up in the last 4 seasons even by pools with players not even fit to wear a replica pools shirt. its been like having the ability to avoid pound shops now to do your shopping.
