More speculation in the Northern Echo - got to say their renewed coverage of Pools since we got promoted has been pretty sensible so there might be something in this.

That said, I reckon the 2 strikers are Mbappe and Neymar.

If we get both in then clearly DC doesnt have confidence in the 2 we have signed up. Burey no doubt go back in January. Wouldnt be a shock to see fela shipped out to NL to get some minutes and fitness.

Must be honest I’m disappointed that we have failed to sign a striker. I just don’t see the point of the young defender from Stoke, we seem to be well covered at the back. I know Challoner wanted a left footed central defender to cover the loss of Johnson but this is just a totally inexperienced player. However fingers crossed and wish the kid good luck.

Challinor won't dwell on any disappointment and he's got forward options to work with. Luke Molyneux scored a belter and made the other two in normal time yesterday (full highlights are already available https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/videos/).

I thought he looked very sharp when he came on on Saturday too - this is potentially a big season for him. Fans know he's got all the attributes to do well at this level, he just has to want it enough.

main thing is we have not lost anyone. for me its better than someone coming in who may not be any better than who we already have.

Transfer window went more or less like I expected it to.
Just hope DC can continue to work his magic with what he has to work with.
An onform Molyneux can certainly be a game changer.
UTP.

If this article in the Echo is right it turns out the 2 forwards Pools were after on deadline day would have been loan signings:
https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport ... last-hour/

In other words, they'd have been additional cover in the forward positions, not starters for Pools. Kimpioka didn't score in any of his 10 appearances for Torquay and didn't make the bench for any of Sunderland's League 1 games last season. No doubt the lad has potential, but so has Joe Grey and he's close to being fully fit.

Can't imagine the next Transfer Window being any different and that's even if we go on an FA Cup run.
Sounds good tho.
We were minutes away from bringing players in.
If both our loanie forwards return to their parent clubs in new year then DC will be required to work more magic.
Anyway what will be will be.
Maybe Raj is trying to reduce the debt faster than the speed of light.

On Radio Tees yesterday evening Dave Challinor named the two forwards he almost got in on deadline day as Kimpioka and Gimme Toure! Toure was even left out of Carlisle's squad on Tuesday night in anticipation that he would be leaving, but for some reason it didn't go through. DC said Pools were working right up till 11 pm to get the players in and was clear that last minute hitches weren't on Pools' part.

I'd have liked to see Toure back, but he's not a central striker, any more than Burey and Molyneux are.

just wonder if all these agents about hinder signings more than help them. possibly wanting another fiver a week after the discussions end.

Almost certainly hinder. Agents are a cancer to the game.
