According to the mail, by end of the day, we may not have An Irish midfielder…

but occasionally they do get it right. more of a case of us predicting a 1 nil pools win everyweek. the law of averages are on their side. every player has his price and if some club are prepared to make a really silly panic offer for him then so be it.

There's more...
https://the72.co.uk/248911/stockport-co ... n-holohan/

Can'r see Gav being prepared to drop back into the National League unless it was great money for him. For that matter can't see Pools selling him to anybody unless its a big transfer fee. His goals are too important to us.

Money does talk that's why quite a few poolie employees have left Pools.
Hopefully GH is still our player by 11pm tonite.
Still can't understand DCs contract situation is still an ongoing concern. The man is a miracle worker and deserves the going rate.
Maybe Raj has offered him a massive promotion bonus.

23 goals in 90 games. That's good for a midfielder. I wonder which Pools player has the best ratio from midfield.

If the price is right and he receives a substantial increase in salary he will be gone, Pools need the money and for him a bit more security if a long term contract.

Tommy Miller got 44 in 160 games.
A marginal better ratio.

Michael Woods finished top scorer a few seasons ago, if anything it shown how woeful the clubs "strikers" were.

rather him go to Dundee than another League club. Doubt there is any truth in the rumours anyways. If Kilip had scored on saturday his name would of been in the fold and a bull story by the Fail. hope we see another striker / winger join today

Story is changing by the minute - don't be too hasty with the send off. According to the Fail, Gav has rejected "offers" from other clubs to stay at Pools.

He would not have played tonight anyway as we noticed him wincing late on in Saturday's game, he has a slight groin strain apparently.

You could look a little silly with that statement.

That's a bit like replacing Margot Robbie with Susan Boyle.

Now that Holohan has shown loyalty to the club and expressed his desire to stay Pools should not allow his contract to run down and risk him walking away at the end of the season for nothing. An increase to his value to £300,000 would seem more in lime with what most clubs at this level are getting for the better players.

well parts of last season you could have knocked a zero off his value. parts of last season some wanted him out of the side for his lack of involvement in games.

Holohan went off the boil for a bit part way through a 46 game season, as did others including Shelton and Cass. Rhys Oates took an age to come to the boil! They were all bang on form when it mattered the most.

That would mean a new contract and spending more money.

If pools got 100k he would be gone.

The club is run on a shoe string at present so who knows who will be renewed.

Please God Challinor. Ffs get that contract sorted Raj.

I know its only early days into the season but surely the crowds this season so far are at least a 1000 above the pre season planned budget.
Keep the fans on board Raj and DCs deserved new improved contract will pay for itself.
Basic Commercial Sense doesn't require rocket Science.
Would imagine 99% of our fans would agree that the contract situation is top priority to sustain and improve the club's future.
UTP.

cannot imagine the break even crowd figure being more than 4,000 or possibly a bit less. the thing is we do not know what DC actually wants to sign an extension. if it is down to money and he,s allowed to leave i think 99 per cent of these fans expect his replacement would be of a poor quality. pools like many others have a track record of poor appointments after a good one. that means gates will drop and even 1,000 that stayed away would cost roughly after VAT over 10,000 grand per home game plus whatever else they,d spend in the ground. the stumbling block may be that raj wants him to live more local. well he hasn,t done too bad living the other side of the country so it should not be an issue.

Challinor won us promotion, on a shoestring. Wasn't it reported promotion was worth at least a million pounds, probobly a hell of a lot more. We are sat in the play offs once again on a shoestring budget, having to play wingers as forwards, bringing in 5000 to 6000 crowds its time raj stopped playing games got this situation sorted immediately, or like transfer deadline day it will pass us by and lose the main man.

Whilst I hope the crowds stay as at present I wouldn’t be surprised to see them even out to 3500 - 4000 + away support when the winter weather sets in.

well even that would be a good improvement on two years ago when fans were allowed in and more than some others in league 2 will get. at least lets enjoy the positive atmosphere at the vic without the gallows humour and negativity of old.

Some people can’t help being miserable, cantankerous, masochistic, loud mouthed harbingers of doom and destruction who get rather ‘aroused’ by failure and things going wrong. They make the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse look like Harry Potters accountants on a donkey ride.
