A crushing 0-0 victory to Walsall as both teams share the spoils and walk away winners.

Great individual goal from Burey was the only thing separating the sides in the first half. Second half, honestly Pools could have scored another 4.

Warsaw (that's for old Bunker times' sake) were very poor. Honestly can't see us being in a relegation scrap this season unless Dave Challinor goes.

Anutha outstanding turnout.

Maybe break the 6000 mark for next weekend s Bank Holiday Weekend Derby.

Surely there's enuf cash in the kitty to improve the squad before the deadline n Secure DC for a decent spell at Pools.

I was very pleased with the result given the first-half performance, at times we were sloppy in possession and Walsall actually could have been in front had they taken the chance where their winger squared it across to the striker in front of goal. You could say we were fortunate to be 1-0 up at half time with a touch of individual brilliance from Burey and then the fantastic save from Killip for Wilkinson’s bullet header. DC obviously had words at half time and we came out all guns blazing and I think deserved the win on the second half display alone, my only one criticism would be that we should be more ruthless in front of goal as there were one or two missed opportunities that we should have buried but on the balance of the game, Pools were definitely the better side and thoroughly deserved their win.

didn,t go as i cannot afford 2 games at the vic in a week. however after 3 games in we beat crawley who were crap, walsall seemed to have been the same and on another day we could have got something at barrow. can see all three being at the wrong end of the table and its more important to beat these teams than those at the top. could easily be three games undefeated now.

I didn't go but delighted with the result and the three points. Averaging two points a game is at least play off standard.
The two young loanees up front are having an impact which is good to see.
Kept the back door shut which is always a plus.
Feeling very positive.

well feeling a bit more positive anyway. actually in the two games i have seen our opponents have been nothing to write home about and i,d have thought the standard would be higher. there are obviously better teams in the league and only time will tell how much better they really will be.

You would think the teams we have played would be near the bottom, but you never know. We really should of had 7 points which would of been a fantastic start. We clearly need a striker still with a few goals in him. Carlisle will be our hardest game so far, win that and it will of been a great start.

Salford spending 3 million a year on their team, haven't won yet, I don't think we should be fooled into thinking this isn't a big step up, we are just a decent team, well at home we are anyway.

Another great professional performance at the Vic. Keep this place a Fortress as we did last year and who knows, might just find ourselves battling for a playoff place. There is no doubt better teams in this league, Bradford, FGR And Mansfield starting to shew their credibility but as for the rest i dont fear anyone the way we are playing just now. The confidence grows as this team is functioning with 2 new strikers upfront who both are premature in their mens football careers if ya like. Should we find a 15 goals a season striker or even a presence upfront who can bring others like Burey and Holahan into the game then we have an even better season me thinks to look forwards too.
Credit to the manager and the playing staff not being distracted by Parko leaving and even more so to our mighty 12th man, the Fans.
Strange as to Ogle coming on though when Cullen was on the bench ? But again this is football and pools so keeping a 2 nill lead was much more important than the 3rd.

My other thinking is ZFA in that back line ? Will this be our new defence ? Need another ryan johnson type figure in that left side albeit with a bit more pace and reading of the game at this level.

The 12th Man is Massive.
Great to see a huge increase in our younger generation of fans who sing their hearts out and are the future for our great club.
Hopefully Onwards n Upwards for Pools after a dire decade

Francis-Angol did pretty well, though I didn't agree with the NWC making him MoM. Liking Neill Byrne better every time I see him - he looks to be a really decent signing.

FZA is a good Pro. Im happy we kept hold of him as technically he can play at a higher level. I know it never worked out for him before but he did really well against Crewe. That being said he played LWB, which i think is the best position for him. I know DC is looking for that CLB position. Not sure where Lawlor fits in but angols heights lets him down being part of that central defence block. Plus we need all the height we can get at the back at this level.
As for Byrne ill agree hes grown on me and seems alot more confident on the ball. Hoping he gets better and better and can fill the boots Nelson left as we havnt really ever had another CB (Liddle the exeption or perm signing) at the club as good as him since he left.

for every salford there is an oldham who are on their uppers. salford always splash the cash as they feel its the only way to do it. now their third season at this level without any real success. a tenth of that for pools would see em top half of the table. all the money did not help stockport last year either.

It's not helping Stockport this year either. Got beat by the daggers at home on Sat. Long may it continue. I'm sure it's a blip but an enjoyable one.

I see York City are also in meltdown, couldn't have happened to a nicer group of players (sarcasm), they have Paddy McLaughlin and Michael Woods.

As for Stockport, seems every other year they bring in Jim Gannon, say they'll back him, only to immediately sack him and piss off the fans.

its bloody hard for any club to get most of the fans onside. raj should learn from the mess they have got into to get dave challinor the deal he wants. good popular managers do not grow on trees by a long way.

Exactly this.
Surely DCs contract situation is the first n foremost situation at Pools do be sorted out.

I bought it once. Smuggled it out of the shop inside a copy of 'Big XXX Jugs'.

Crowd predictions seem very low to me. Carlisle have sold their allocation and last week there was nearly 5000. I think we'll break 5000 this week.
