Hi, Barrow AFC fan in peace.

This coming Saturday see’s our local team hosting Hartlepool United in our first home league game of the season. This will be our teams first game that fans can attend so our local club is expecting a large crowd. It is anticipated that there will be a large travelling support, maybe not as many Medieval Knights this time around!

We at the Barrow Football Supporters Club or “football Bar” as we are known locally cordially invite you thirsty travelling supporters into our venue for pre-match drinks. We are a friendly club and welcome both home and away supporters. We will cater for your large following by opening our large concert room, if the weathers nice you can gain access to our beer garden.

Our club premises are situated 100 yards away from the Barrow AFC ground. We are situated just off the A590 which is the road you travel on to Barrow once you leave the M6 at junction 36. We have safe and secure parking at only £4 per car. Our post code is LA14 5UG. Please google map us to see our proximity to the football ground.

To finish we welcome all peaceful minded fans into our premises. Our premises are 24 hour CCTV for our customers safety.

Best of luck and here’s to a great day and match.

Please feel free to ask if you need any information and I’ll try my best to help.

Its just the user said it was Barrow's first game in the EFL with fans when it wasn't, because they had fans in those two games.

I think Mr Soccerbar means it will be Barrow's first game with an unrestricted attendance - with no limit on the number of home fans who can attend as well as away fans. I'm sure there'll be plenty of Poolies visiting their football bar on Saturday.

It will be the first Football League fixture between Barrow and Pools for 50 years, because Barrow lost their league status at the end of the 1971-72, despite finishing 8 points above Crewe and 5 points ahead of Stockport. Just goes to show what a shitty system re-election was. Pools finished 3 points above Barrow in 18th place, which was pretty good going as we'd spent half the season rooted to bottom spot!

That was the season Len Ashurst took over in the spring and turned the team around and also the period that got me addicted to Pools. He instilled such a great fighting spirit into the side, the phrase ‘never say die’ being very apt.

Same here Johnny. Came home for the Eater Holidays and saw Pools chalk up 4 home wins in 11 days, with crowds of 5,000 - 6,000 for each game. The atmosphere inside the Vic was amazing - it hasn't been bettered many times since. Got me hooked.

It was that team which recorded the original NSD.

yes, lost their league status to ronnie radfords goal against the mags. a big hereford love in after that FA Cup win. if the result had been the other way round we,d have never heard of that club. mind you who are laughing now.

being younger then it felt brilliant. had only seen pools a handful of times home and away that season until that run in. there has been good and bad times to get involved with the club and that was one of them.
