I thought the new shirt went on sale today?
I would of hoped that the online shop would of been updated already for the release.

Sometimes Pools make it quite hard for exiles to support the club and try and spend money with them. I understand that there are costs associated with more staffing, customer services etc., but the number of times my emails and calls go answered is staggering. in the last few seasons I have all but given up trying to buy kit online.

It is a bloody joke really. Surely rule number 1 is get enough stock to satisfy demand and get a system in place to cater for everyone wherever they live. It's not like it's been sprung on them either, it happens every year and it doesn't take a genius to work out that we'll need more stock this year because we've been promoted and we're back to stripes (which is surely the preferred kit for fans? I know it's mine).

I tried calling this morning but the phone lines are buggered - you select any option and it just doesn't work, you just get the menu options repeated.

Piss poor.

I also won't get there until at least 1pm tomorrow by which time we'll either have sold out or the shop will be rammed.

and after years of doing this surely they know which sizes are the most popular and should order more of these than the ones that hang around for months. if say 50 per cent of sales are for XL then that should be 50 per cent of that order.

The queue outside the shop this morning at 10 am was unbelievable. It took me 40 minutes in a queue less than a quarter of the size on Wednesday just to pick up my season ticket. I think people are in for a long wait today to get served.

Careful now, you're not allowed to criticise the club, if you do you're not a real fan.

I expected it to be like this to be honest. It is the same every year.
Shirt sales are a sure fire way to get a cash injection into the club and they cock it up every year!
Why they couldn't manage to get online sales ready today as well is beyond me...and like said above, no doubt they will have sold out of all the common sizes by the time i have finished writing this post.

More commercial incompetence.
I cannot make tomorrow's game but it will be interesting to see if the catering is as shit as it was.

I honestly can not fathom how poor it is that they can't meet demand.

Just how incompetent do you have to be to fail to learn every single year what it takes to run a bloody shop at a football club??

It is so frustrating.
I feel that they miss out every year from the preseason excitement.
They lose the first couple of games and some people won't buy the shirt.
I would love to know how much they will have lost out on today.
Personally, i was ready to buy a shirt for myself and strip for my daughter, so that's roughly 100 pound.
How many other 100 pound sales have they missed out on?

Perhaps the shirt and merchandise suppliers won't give the club credit and has to pay upfront (cash with order or delivery).
Sorry if this sounds like starting a bad rumour but I cannot think of anything else.

In terms of revenue for the club, brilliant they have sold out.

I just hope there are more shirts on Monday for me and the kids.

Folk were queuing from 8:00am and rumours were along the queue from 11:00 that sizes were sold out - and we should congratulate them on selling out! Brilliant. No. Try telling that to a kid who was expecting a shirt - or an old fella like me who wasted a day.

How can selling out before the season has even started possibly be a good thing? The only possible justification would be if we broke all previous replica shirt sales records for an entire season in one day. I’ve said it before, but at times it feels like it’s hard to give this club money.

There have been a few seasons past where I have tried to get a shirt for the first few weeks of a season then just given up - how many more have done the same?

It's a shambles.

The only get out of jail card is to blame the supplier but even then, if they're that bad, appoint one capable of delivering, how many other clubs have this problem I wonder?

I had £80 burning a hole in my pocket for a couple of shirts for me and the missus.

We saw the queue then went to Pets at Home instead and spent it on the dog.

some possible reasons then..

The shirt sponsorship was signed later than anticipated, hence the delay in getting the shirts made by the suppliers.

Pools initially said that shirts were available for online sales from today.

last night, pools said it would be shop sales only for shirts with online sales starting next week.

So could it be that the suppliers informed pools late yesterday of their shirt numbers being lower than planned and pools had to switch last minute to ensure as many shirts were sold face to face as possible to appease those fans heading to the club shop.

apparently there is a massive order due next week...

we will see.

There’s all manner of good reasons, the issue for me, much like anything I try to do with Pools, is the lack of communication. If they said last night that due to the sponsorship being signed late or delivery dates been pushback that the initial number of shirts to be sold in the shop and a big delivery was due next week or the week after and that’s when online sales will be fulfilled, then I fully understand. I’d also expect them to sell shirts in the shop before online to ensure that the shirt is seen in the stands on Saturday. But this lack of communication is what forces us to get frustrated and even for some people to spend their Pools money on their dog!!
