In Coventry, which is literally the centre of the England btw, there lies the Ricoh, a stadium that last time I checked had no current tenant. 32,000 capacity. Its PERFECT for games like playoffs, semi finals, etc.

AND ITS NEVER EVER USED!

Cracking day out for Sutton vs Chesterfield or Stockport. At least Mickey Barron won’t be getting knocked out this time, should Pools get there.

thats the best chance now we,ll get to the final. are they going to make it something stupid like a 1pm KO as well. there is going to be at least one northern team in the final for a start. surely any large ground from the midlands upwards would have been a better choice. its nailed on a stockport v pools final now.

then on to plymouth when they realize they have pulled up the pitch at ashton gate a day before the game and inform the fans on the day of the game. if only the teams involved had known about the switch they might have got away with it.

The final is a 2pm kick off on Sunday 20th June. Live on BT sport, as the maximum crowd allowed will be 6750 between both teams, most of us will be watching it on tv or in the pub.

The football authorities need to have a good long look at the way our league is managed and decide whether the administration is fit for purpose.
Bunch of bloody amateurs.

BT sports to be the winners again with their rip off 25 quid pass.

And "expert" punditry from Adam Virgo.

Their premier league pundits are just as bad as well.

Its about time the clubs rebelled against the NL administration.

Weston Super Mare actually have a decent ground for the level they play it. I'd probably prefer it over ashton gate.

At least itd make a good atmosphere if every fan was crammed in the terrace!

For those of us reliant on public transport Bristol and the South West is the most impossible place to get to. Used to go by plane but they don't work on weekends due to Covid. Much cheaper than the trains cost.

Perhaps that is the reason in these Covid times to keep the crowd as low as they can.

As for BT Sports read last week they are looking to sell it on to Amazon or the likes as they make no money from it! Clearly paid ridiculous money to the Premiership and so many offers to get people on to their internet or mobile contracts.

Other than the UEFA competitions, BT Sport is a second rate sky sports imo. All the best FA cup games are on BBC, all the best Premier League games are on SKY. They have things like the MLB and NHL if you want, but never the big games there either. Its very much eclectic, jack of all trades master of none.

That said I've noticed much more National League content this year, including an on time and frequent highlight show. So I suppose I can't complain too much.

BT subscription costs me £6 a week. I'd pay that just for the National League coverage - I've forked out a similar amount on away live streams this season. Pools have never had anything like the amount of TV exposure they get now in this tinpot fifth tier.

Then there's the Champions League, UEFA Cup and Prem games on top - all in all it's excellent value for a football fan. I realise there's some people who haven't got £24 a month to waste on a sports subscription channel - and a lot more who prefer to waste their spare cash on other things.

As for the BBC - when was the last time Pools were live on the licence fee? Ah yes, Pools v Blyth Spartans in the FA Cup, with Shearer in the Spartans dressing room at half time...

have got nothing i have to pay extra for. apart from pools and a handful of other sides i have no interest in watching televised football or other sports for that matter. i,m glad i have no interest as it would save more arguments in the house. words like why are you watching that, you do not support or like those clubs come quickly to mind. i want to watch murder she wrote.

That one completely slipped my mind. Odd really, because it was the high point of Josh MacDonald's career with Pools.

Get yourself a firestick with IPTV. You get absolutely every channel and PPV and a range of dirty Doris channels if that’s your thing.

Got to admit as a Darlo fan I think its hilarious that your best chance of getting to Wembley will end up at Bristol.
However as a football fan I do have sympathy with you in this situation, it does seem that whenever they choose venues other than the national stadium, its always skewed in favour of the more southern clubs.

Rumour has it that it was a toss up between Ashton Gate and the Stadium of Light, but the Torquay chairman offered a bigger bung

Good old National League, what a year they've had. They've organised their annual do in a brewery - in Albania.

If the 2nd and 3rd teams are Torquay and Stockport then its not a daft choice along the M5/M6. (96 miles to Torquay and 160 miles to Stockport). There aren't many clubs 30 miles north of Bristol that would be halfway.

torquay like pools are out on a limb compared to the rest of the clubs who are really south eastern, north midlands or northern. you really expect both these clubs would have to travel further than the rest for a final game. at the time bristol was given the game 5 out of the top 7 were all north of the river trent.

Ah, ye olde Cockney rhyming slang.

Depends how you define 'lads' - I doubt anyone under 30 has been saying it this millennium.

doubt anyone has said it after the first tv repeat of the carry on films. i,ve used other terms over the years but never bristols. think that rhyming slang was thought up by a 10 yesr old cockney.
