Southend United and Grimsby Town are challenging their relegation from League Two with the Football League.

The two clubs claim their demotion is "unfair" in the current circumstances, given there is no relegation from the National League this season.

They have submitted a proposal which is set to be discussed by the EFL.

Their argument that there is no relegation from our league doesn't stand up. The reason there is no relegation from our league is because there is no one competing to be promoted to our league, whereas there are plenty of clubs busting a gut to get promoted to league two.

So if there is to be no relegation to the NL as Dover and others aren't being relegated - then surely no one can be promoted from L2 - and so very quickly I can announce that Sheffield United are staying in the Premier League.................madness.

If they are successful and their demotion is classed "unfair" then presumably no league one teams will be relegated either and so on up the pyramid.

think pools should be re installed back into division 2. we had to play too many teams on a winning run that season and our home games were played on the average of 2 degrees colder than the rest.
