Sutton and Torquay have eminently winnable games tonight. Still, then we’ll know exactly how we stand.

Stockport looking strong. 2 up already and only two points adrift of us.

They’re 4-0 up now so practically one point behind us with their superior GD

No surprise - King's Lynn have been awful for weeks. They are basically just making up the numbers till the end of the season.

Pools' 2-2 draw down there in March was a really poor result. We conceded 2 quick goals in the first half to defensive mistakes and that put their makeshift team on their game. Score early against them and they fold - as Stockport are showing.

And Bennett doesn't even make the bench.

Minimum of four extra minutes at Torquay and the ref played TEN. It's happening too much and needs investigating.

It's a pity that the lower teams have nothing to play for, except when they play us obviously. The games in hand they had were always going to be wins, unless they play each other or a team in the top 10.

Things now a little clearer. Halifax have a poor goal difference and are six points adrift of Stockport so it is any three from four for the top three places.
Any of the current top four could finish first so there is all to play for.
Come on Pools go for it!

Fat chance of that happening unfortunately. Torquay must have hired Alex Ferguson as a consultant...

do we genuinely think there's a conspiracy to get torquay to win the league?

we are still in with a chance but the number of draws is what is likely to be looked back on wherever we finish. Massive 2 games coming up as both look very difficult this week for Pools. We have the game against Sutton which we are always likely to have to go and win if want to win the league so that kind of rules out their game in hand and means they are 2 points ahead.

hopefully we get through these 2 games, and hopefully then some teams can do us favours as there's a couple of harder games for torquay/sutton/stockport also over this next week

With only six games left we need to just go for it and win all six if not whats the worse what can happen now is we end up 4th.
No matter how it pans out we have had a good season.

exactly, we knew games in hand could be an issue and it may prove that way.

sutton could go 5 points clear with last game in hand, but we are going to have to beat them anyways so that takes 3 of those away. We have to win every game realistically which is a huge challenge in itself

top 3 has to be the aim, and this is just as hard to maintain as trying to win the league...it looks like that top 4 will battle it out

Yep! It's like a 4 team mini league and anyone can win it. We have to go into each game with a let's win it mentality as, no doubt will the others so it comes down to which teams will bottle it. This is the time of the season where a little bit of the rub of the green goes our way for a change. Exciting times!

heard there was an incident in those 4 minutes that caused the match to go longer than it should have done. too much time added on in all games for me anyway. where do they get that minute from at half time when there has been no injuries, goals or substitutions. its getting to be after 5pm for results to come in nowadays for 3pm kick offs. there cannot be serious injuries in all these games.

yes, one very few expected either especially after the torquay at home game. would have bitten someones hand off for even a 7th place after that. even before a ball was kicked this season our only real hope seemed to be getting into the vic itself never mind a play off position.

Looking at the table, it could even come down to goal difference & we are definitely lagging behind there. A win at Sutton is a must. Wonder if that will make the tv ?

Sure it got mentioned the otha week.
We will probably be top of the league goin into the last minute of the season.
Then the innevatable obviously happens.
Still expect us to get promotion via the play offs.
Has the league decided on a venue for the final.

strong rumour doing the rounds is it,ll be at leicester city. if thats the case with current virus restrictions it will be a maximum of 8,000 fans present. after the corporate friend of friends lot get their hands on them first we,ll be lucky to see 3,000 of em for us commoners. hope its stockport if pools get there. my lads a season ticket holder and knows a few who you need to know. that will be my best chance of seeing the game live.

I think it will pan out as

1st stockport
2nd sutton
3rd pools
4th torquay

Just hope we can do the business in the play offs.

yes, just start practising penalty kicks right now as with pools record the games are bound to end up all square.

it's definitely battle of 4 isn't it and finishing top 3 is biggest aim realistically, but title is not over at all.

Whoever finishes 4th out of us at top at moment, is going to be pretty cheesed off

however finishing 4th or 5th can be seen as a good thing in. yes you have to play an extra game but it will be a home game. finishing 2nd or 3rd will mean a longer lay off between games. we will see on saturday if having a longer lay off will be benificial or not for pools.

I see your logic Mr Accy but if it comes to the play offs I'd rather Pools started 2 games away from promotion than 3.

As far as the automatic promotion place goes, it's out of our hands at the minute as Torquay and Sutton both have to drop points to have any chance of catching them. We're better placed than Stockport at the minute but they could come up on the rails. Need Halifax to have one of their better days tomorrow.

but you would be away if get through the first part of the playoffs, against the better team in terms of where finished.

I think a 1 off home game against someone from 4th to 7th and then final at a neutral ground is the best choice if in playoffs; especially considering our home form.
