This really is a must win game - Pools have the toughest fixtures over the Bank Holiday weekend with away to Bromley on Monday. Torquay have got Eastleigh at home (winner in the 100th minute?) then Chesterfield away, Sutton got Aldershot at home then Notts County away, Stockport are away to Halifax then get 3 points for turning up at home to Wealdstone.

2-1 Pools. Oates and a revitalised Luke Armstrong

Chesterfield have three very useful teams after their playoff spot so they cannot afford to lose. Could be a cagey low scoring game. Hopefully 1-0 to Pools.

I remember a magical night back during Pools first ever promotion season in '67/'68. It was a Friday night and Pools beat Chesterfield in front of over 11,000 in a division four match. Goal difference needs to be improved but right now a repeat would be welcome. Pools 2 Chesterfield 1. Holohan and Oates.

We’d better do Something, both Sutton and Torquay winning.

There is only one way today's results could get worse ...

... rather not consider it.

We not only need to win this evening, we need to score a decent amount.

Not a bad start 1-0 after 3 minutes. Oates.

Still 4th though.

The best thing about that half was the message it sends to Torquay, Sutton and Stockport - and their fans.

Pools' pressing game is a thing of beauty. Oates and Holohan especially - never seen Gav so strong in the tackle, winning all the 50-50 balls.

You could make Pools sign Sergio Ramos and revive Norman Hunter, all while having prime Peter Cech in goal.

And Pools would still concede against Niall Rodney wearing a blindfold and sandals.

Thanks for all the updates, cracking result keeping the pressure on and proving we can keep our own pressure on, can't wait to take the game to Sutton, they won't be looking forward to us turning up and doing them over. UTP!!!!!!

All we can do is keep winning and the pressure is on the others to at least match us, which in Sutton's case is impossible because us winning all our remaining games means they lose at least one. The others have some interesting fixtures as well so I'll be very happy going into the last game at home against Weymouth needing a win to be champions. Obviously I would like to see us as champions before that game but if offered a Weymouth win to ensure promotion I would jump at it.
I have a slight worry about Lewis Cass but hopefully he will resume on Monday. He is a key player in the system DC likes to play and would be missed. Fingers crossed on that one.

Some excellent vocal support for DC and the lads during DCs after match BT Sport's interview.

Francis-Angol came on for the second half after Cass was withdrawn. He played on the left side of the back three with Odusina moving over to the right. He did ok, not as good in the air as Richardson, but then neither are Liddle and Odusina. Kerr jumped head and shoulders above everyone else for his goal.

Saunders got on for about 15 minutes but didn't have an opportunity to show anything.
