The club in question is Kordrengir in the Icelandic 1st Division and the ex-Poolies are Connor Simpson and Conner Rennison (who had 3 years in Pools' youth side but never featured for the first team).

The season finishes in September and Kordrengir are based in Reykjavik, so the lads (including Nathan Dale who used to play for Gateshead) should have a brilliant time. Icelandic women are such natural beauties that a few years back all the big model agencies opened offices there. Not bad for a summer job!

Always seems to be a lot of NE lads playing in either Sweden or Iceland. Johnny Franks, Brook Miller (?), Dave Atkinson and Curtis Edwards are just the ones I can name on the top of my head.

From what I've heard the pay is good, drink is cheap, scenery is nice but cold as fuck.

Stands to reason - playing up here in January is ideal preparation! (to be fair, I've been to Reykjavik in the summer and the weather we've had for the last couple of weeks is a better comparison).

given the choice i,d rather play in those countries than hot ones like spain or portugal. early season saturday games even in hartlepool can be too much for me and thats only watching. you can put gloves and extra layers on but there is a limit you can take off. any one like me who gets that prickly heat and scratches their arms till they bleed will know what i mean.
