On O/S, 6' 4" forward Richie Bennett from Stockport Co.

Won’t be allowed to play against us at the end of the season. Hope he gets a hatful of goals in the next two months. Welcome and good luck.

certainly mixed revues about him from stockport fans. seen a few of their games and for me he,s good in the air and should provide more space in the box for armstrong and others. looked a bit clumsy on the deck and was not a regular goal scorer. just lets wait and see before we get too excited about his signing. you never know what you are going to get till you,ve seen them a few times. it does seem a funny move from their point of view in loaning out a striker to a play off rival. wonder if someone would take donaldson to help them in their push for the top.

Not sure that's right is it? The OS says he can be recalled at any time after 28 days at the Vic, so before the end of the regular season, let alone the play offs.

Hope Bennett does well for us. Dave Challinor says he "provides a different facet" to what Pools have already in the squad but I'm not sure Mason Bloomfield would agree. He seems to have drifted out of the first team squad in recent weeks and this pushes him even further down the pecking order.

I was also wondering why Stockport would loan out a striker to one of their nearest rivals. They have put the clause in that he can be recalled after 28 days, so if he does create more goals you can bet on the fact that they'll recall him. Personally I would have preferred to get someone in without recall clauses simply to ensure we have cover should Armstrong get injured but it is what it is. There doesn't seem to be much faith in Bloomfield doing the same job.

However if Bennet is good in the air he should be able to capitalise on the number of decent crosses we get in, as well as helping to defend opposition set pieces.

in reality we have him for 28 days. if he does well they,d want him back. if he proves to be crap we,ll send him back. its a pity about bloomfield as i think like a few others we have signed from teams below its a step too far for the lad. just remember that ilkeston game where they just could not handle him. one for darlo next season and thats being positive for them.

Oates deemed fit enough to start today which is good news. "Big Richie" is on the bench and Bloomfield not amongst the subs.

It appears that Stockport have given up on this season and want Pools out of the picture.
When one sees the number of former league clubs behind us, this has got to be our golden chance to put this non league nightmare to bed.

thought he did more than ok for me. won nearly all of his headers and set holohan up who made hard work of his effort. he had only been with us hours so could actually see him getting better once he knows his team mates abilities. only problem i can see is who gets dropped for him and will any change of formation upset the side as a whole.
