As the end of season heads into view, train tickets up North are on starting to appear on sale for June. I've got to gamble on which Saturdays Pools will be at home, along with wondering whether I've got to move holidays around in June. Surprisingly (or maybe not), I've not found anything on the NL site about the play off schedule for June.

Has anyone else seen these available anywhere? Presumably they'll be done by 19 or 26 June at Wembley? England are playing at Wembley on Friday 18th June.

Next season the NL starts on 21st August but the EFL will be earlier on August 7th. Not long for Sutton to rip up their plastic.

If Sutton win it, they will ground share with another club until they have new pitch in place.
Harrogate used Donys ground I think?

Think I heard Sutton saying in the NL paper that they're already ready for promotion regarding the pitch.

I do wonder how Wembley is going to accommodate an FA Cup, two FA Trophies, two FA vases, an England international and play offs all in such a short period of time.

Thank fuck Wembley isn't in Halifax!

The NL Play-Offs are being held across the first three weekends of June.

if there is a transport strike in the wembley and greater london area it would possibly be quicker to get to halifax by road unless you are within walking distance of the place.

I suspect the answer might be, they aren’t going to accommodate all those.

with the maximum number that can attend being 10,000 anyway then surely some of these games could be played somewhere like old trafford, villa park or even elland road if they cannot be accomodated at wembley. if we get to the final and win it there,s more of a fighting chance you,d not miss your last train home after some late afternoon or evening KO ime to suit a broadcaster.

At the moment
Monday May 3rd
FA Trophy and FA Vase Finals 2019-20. Harrogate v Concord and Hebburn v Consett. There has been talk of playing closer to teams and getting a decent crowd in but in current virus spreading Pandemic doubt this common sense approach will happen and players will want to play at WEmbley.
Saturday May 22nd
FA Trophy and FA Vase Finals 2020-21 though still a lot of catching up with weekly rounds in FA Vase and Hereford v Hornchurch is the FA Trophy Final.
April 25th League Cup Final Wembley
May 15th FA Cup Finaal Wembley
May 29-31 EFL Play Off Finals at Wembley
June 4,5 or 6 Play Off 1st Round 4v7 and 5v6
June 11,12 or 13 Play Off Semis
June 19 or 20 Final

I'd rather play a match at Victoria Park than a match at Wembley. Consett and Hebburn are the Vase finalists, I'm sure both those teams will have at least one Newcastle supporting player so why not play it at St James Park?

The plan thus far is last years Vase final to be BCD, for absolutely no reason. If I was those teams, I'd just lie and say Consett and Hebburn were in Berkshire and Surrey respectively, bet the FA and Gov would be like speedy Gonzales then!

Wembley is overrated anyway. It's in an industrial wasteland and has no character whatsoever. Just imagine the Riverside with a few more seats.

When were you last there? I was working in Wembley Way till January last year and private developers have chucked a ton of money at it and pretty much the whole area around the stadium. It's all very much aimed at young cosmopolitans with money in their pockets - but you'd have to be under 30 to think it had acquired any character.

I messaged a friend who had done some work for Non League News a while back. Currently all the focus is preparing contingency plans for the Euro Championships to be hosted in England because of the (lack of) vaccine situation elsewhere. Scotland and Ireland still not committed to hosting games and they may lose them anyway. In short, it looks unlikely that Wembley will be available for the volume of games that may come up, on top of the fixtures earlier in this thread.

Pools missed out on a day at Wembley in the play off final vs Sheff. Looks like this season will be elsewhere too. Bums. I’ve been to both Old and New Wembley. The stadium is much, much better and the area around it has much more to attract folks on non match days too. Shame we probably won’t play there..I’m an hour away.
Fingers crossed, wherever it is being played, Pools are in it.

I went in 2018. Most the buildings around the ground were empty or in the process of getting built. A lot of places seemed vacant for some time though. It was a lot like those Chinese ghost cities that are rapidly built before people have a reason to move there.

I only stopped in one bar on the way to the ground and it was already full from when I arrived. The bar was very small but admittedly I did hear of more close by.

ask the players of consett and hebburn where they,d like to play. think the vast majority would plump for wembley, even though the place was always overated, as its a childhood dream to play there. not sure myself if i,m bothered about pools playing there even if they won. if you decided to build a national stadium in the worst place you could its possible you could come up with wembley or somewhere near selhurst park. both places are hard to get to and park as well as public transport being poor. going past the place on the west coast main line and having to retrace your steps always boiled my body fluids.

I'd only go back to Wembley if Pools were there, which so far, is looking very likely

i would also if i could be 100 per cent sure i could get there and back on the day of the game without having to drive there. anyway lets leave that hurdle till we are actually there. the more you talk about it or think about it the less it will happen.

When we get to the final I am expecting to be underwhelmed by it being at a venue such as Leicester City.

well if it is you wont be going by train. if its on time for a 3pm ko you might just make the start and the last one back is 1730. by that it looks odds on for leicester if the trains your thing.

No matter where the final is being held, we could do with knowing the dates for all the games to put holidays in at work if required. I am sure that in 2019 the full play off schedule from last league game to the final was completed in 2 weeks and not 3. I think the first games were held on the Tuesday and Wednesday after the season ended.
