Ms Jill Mortimer, a Farmer from North Yorkshire. On looks alone she's no Dehena Davison. She does sit on Hambleton District Council. At least she's not from London.

The Tory candidate will be a generic, upper class middle aged man, who has never lived in Hartlepool or even the North East. He'll claim to care about "leveling up the North". But he won't know Seaton Delaval from Seaton Carew! Expect him to have sky high travel expenses, all while he spends his days behind a desk in Harrogate.

Just change the gender and I got most of it right.

And no, harrogate isn't in the north east, nor is Carlisle, regardless of what ITV news tell you.

Does she have big top bollocks? That’s the main criteria many base their judgement of a female MP on. That said Ann Widdecombe has a huge set!

Never heard of her, Will Hartlepool elect a female? Will Hartlepool elect a Tory? Two big questions.
A female might be a breath of fresh air and could attract more of the female vote.
Personally I would give her a chance for two reasons.
First it could galvanise the Government into taking more notice of the town and secondly it would shake the Labour party up a bit.
Because the Government has such a comfortable majority it won't make a difference in the great scheme of things but it might make an individual difference to the town.
I think it is an experiment worth considering and, if it fails, it can be restored at the next election.
Nothing to lose.

women can be a funny lot with election candidates. she,ll have more chance with them if she is a plain jane type rather than some well dressed glamour girl. sexist mini rant of the day.

Dehenna Davison is a young bit of eye Candy and the Metropolis elected her. Ms Mortimer looks like a middle aged plain Jane. TBF looks like she'd the type to allow fox hunting through the streets of Hartlepool.

The newly formed Northern Independence Party has entered a former Labour MP from Yorkshire as their candidate. Mrs Thelma Walker is an ex Headteacher who stands for "social justice". In the pic there was no sign of the size of her jubblies.

I apologise Mr I. The problem with being a PI during lockdown. Had to rely on BBC pics. My imagination does have the impression that Mrs Walkers wooblies once the Bra taken off will reach to her public zone.

Agree with Derwent- why would Labour spend money on the town , when they'll win anyway and why would Conservatives spend money when they'll lose anyway ??
However this time it could be different - if the Conservatives win - they'll need to do something for the town if they want to win at the next general election.
1959 to 1964 was our last Conservative mp and I don't think we've ever had a woman mp.
So as Derwent said - let's give a chance !

if i lived local and voted i,d have to say she,d get my vote. hate to say it though but thats how i feel about the labour party now. our choices in the party seem to me either a blairite character or the far left whose only interest seeems to be any minority they can find to support and sod the rest.

The gadgie in that picture always reminds me of the joke about the drunk tramp who wakes every morning with a sore arse and a fiver tucked in his top pocket.

be interesting what the turn out for those three will be. its hard to get interested in the 1st and 3rd positions that a lot either find pointless or unnecessary.

This election seems to be getting more runners and riders than the Grand National. My early prediction and for Hartlepool I hope I'm wrong, is, all these new/little parties along with voter apathy will take votes off Labour, leaving the Conservatives to win. Beware what you wish. It happened in the Metropolis.

Bo Jo visits Hart Biochem today.
Needs a damn good haircut.
Spends too much time in the fridge too.

Bo Jo is playing on his haircut. He's always had a bad one, yet now growing it wilder to "show" hairdressers have been closed. Prem league footballers can get their hair cut (their wives/girlfriends all must be hairdressers) but Boris is a man of the people and following his own rules. Remember the hero survived Covid etc. Not that I'm cynical!!!!!!!!!

boris should leave his hair alone so he could eventually have an adam armstrong on top. that would secure the hartlepool seat for sure. unlike adam he could go on and score a few more OG.
