I read a lot of books about music, especially 70s music and I’m afraid that Bowie did his share of dodgy dealings in this department - but nobody likes to mention this as, well - we all love Bowie don’t we.

this type of stuff rarely comes out once anyone if really famous. if you had a league table of fame and popularity the higher up you are the more you can get away with. can think if savile had been less popular he,d have been outed years before his death.

And as an aside, I met himself when he was in his pomp - in a pub near Reigate in 1976 - he was with some mates and was 'out of costume' and, shoot me if you want, he seemed decent enough - bought me and my mates a few pints, told a few stories and was generally friendly - and he didn't need to be. I'm speaking as I found - I am not justifying or defending his behaviour - but I'm just saying that I had a laugh along to Gary on a number of occasions - such as in The Gemini!
