Saturday 10th April, 5.20 kick off.
Puts paid to the live stream unfortunately. At least we managed to beat Barnet in front of their cameras, so not quite the jinx it used to be.

It’s okay season ticket holders got free vouchers in the club shop. They had to lose another £60 in the process of using them like but still....

True. But who knew? Streaming wasn't even on the horizon when season tickets went on sale. And nobody had a clue that the Covid second wave was going to last even longer than the first.

afraid its the same gripe that season ticket holders at all clubs have when their team is on bt sports. if only you could buy the 9.99 24 hour pass that sky offers then it would not be as bad. not paying for a monthly pass just to watch one game as i,m not interested in the rest they have to offer.

Some people in this thread should go support Barrow, it's clear they're just triggered that Lord Raj is running Pools far better than Ken Hodcroft did.

Ken had his faults but he left us with no debt.

I hope raj leaves us the same.

a lot depends on where pools are when raj does leave if we are in debt. in non league we,d be doomed without someone with the ability to write it all off and throw money at the club. that is just not going to happen. as a league club we have a slightly better chance. anyway debt goes hand in hand with football like salt and vineger on chips. this debt is regarded as managable or not depending which is the team in question.

It is indeed managable whilst he is prepared to manage it... as we seen at darlo though he can change his mind.

I after say reading comments on here, the fb group and online i'm surprised so many people are just happy to see us pick up more debt, manageable or not its debts n loans.

After coxall and pam i thought people would be more cautious. I thought people would ask more questions.

It's gr8 to see us doing well on the pitch n long may it continue, but i dont think we shud ignore things off the field.

The two things are not mutually exclusive, you can support the club and ask questions of the actions off it, it doesnt make you anti raj, it just makes you cautious.

If my wife told me she had no money, then came home with 10 bags of shopping, i'd ask her where the fuck she got em from, even if one of them was a present for me.

One of the most sensible things I’ve seen written on Hartlepool United related social media.

think as long as pools are doing well and winning on the pitch thats all the vast majority of fans really care about. its only when the financial shit hits the fan which usually coincides with the team doing badly that interest is shown. i,m one of these people and i,m afraid will always be like this.

Ken Hodcroft and Russ Green tried to give the club away to the Monkey Hangers conmen who went to jail for fraud. When that didn't work out they offloaded HUFC to another bunch of chancers hiding behind a shell company with no clients and not a bean to their name.

What part of "Pools would have gone out of business 3 years ago if Raj Singh hadn't taken the club on when no-one else was interested" do people like you not remember? The Loids who come on the Bunker flapping their gums aren't interested in that, only their own tale of woe, but there's no excuse for Poolies not knowing the score.

We can all be as "cautious" about Raj as you like, the fact that Pools are still playing in the National League, let alone second in the table, is 90% down to him - and 10% down to Jeff Stelling.

I long for the days I can just think of on field matters, it seems we had a great 20 year run without having to think about it, one day.

I wish ken hadn't handed us over to coxall, in hindsight i'm sure he regrets it too, he still give coxall a debt free club, that cannot be denied.

I dont disagree with anything you've said at all. Raj stepped in when we had no hope, i am eternally grateful for him coming forward n putting his *money where his mouth is and taking us on, i can't show him enough gratitude for that.

Can that gratitude give him enough leverage to ignore the loans he's putting against the club, and most recently the fixtures n fittings? With you it might, but to "people like me" it can't, he's had the chance to explain it last week and he did not.

I hope we get promoted, i hope he's our chairman for many years, i hope we have a lot of success under him, but whilst he is continuing to put loan after loan against the club i will continue to be cautious and not get carried away.

*loans.

Are these loans new borrowing from external sources or intra-group - i.e. shown as loans to HUFC from the Prestige Group? I'm no accountant (though I have run my own small business for 20-odd years) but I do know that "Most intra-group indebtedness is shown as due within one year on the balance sheet but never actually gets settled."
In other words, if Raj Singh decides to call time on his ownership of HUFC without finding a buyer he still loses his own money - if HUFC went into liquidation he would only get the same few pence in the £ as all the other creditors.

Fair enough - we're all hoping Raj Singh's second spell as chairman turns out differently to the first.

When Raj says that's what he plans to do I believe him - not least because it's in his best interests as well as the fans to leave the club in a good enough state to sell it on as a going concern. Getting promotion back to the EFL this year or next would be a massive step in the right direction.
