2 points lost there, Expect Armstrong to bury those chances and that WAS a penalty.

If that was given as a penalty against us I wouldn’t have any real complaints. Classic case of a ref wanting to be right rather than thinking about the situation properly. It’s a cynical foul not going for the ball right on the edge of the area. It’s a penalty. I don’t buy all that first contact stuff. If I had hold of your shirt with one hand as you entered the box and then grabbed you with two hands and pulled you to the floor is that a free kick on the edge of the area? Nah. I mean we might have missed the spot kick fair enough but to not give it is poor.

is that the reason though why armstrong is with pools. looking at his overall play and goal poaching exploits there was obvious going to be a flaw in his game somewhere.

Aubameyang at Arsenal has missed 3 chances like that in the past week, and he's got a couple of hundred career goals at the highest level.

You can't read too much into one fluffed 1 on 1 with the goalie from Armstrong, but if it is a flaw and it's enough to make Salford think they've got better, all well and good. Would love to have him at Pools next season, but if he carries on scoring at the same rate as he has since he joined he'll finish up with 20+ goals and we'll have a devil of a job holding onto him.

a lot depends on wether he wants to stay in the north east. if pools offer him decent money and a long contract that interest him then he could be swayed into signing. he,s not going to find another NE club and might as well see his contract run down than sign for other non league clubs near to salford. heard that we were not the first to sniff around salford for him but being NE swayed it for pools.
