Will it be on or not? Think waterlogging is the greatest danger, however I think the pitch will be just about ok , albeit heavy.

Imagine though having to watch in this weather? never mind play, thank god for Covid  otherwise the hip flask would've taken an almighty hammering.

Another tough game in prospect, despite Solihulls position in the table, I view this as a game against a top 6 side.

Can't see many goals in this one.

Pools 0 v 1 Solihull

See what you think of Donawa if he turns out for Solihull. Has pace to burn and a good leap on him too, natural athlete.
Was gutted we sold him but his replacement, Erico Sousa, has been outstanding for us. Some good talent in the lower leagues if you are prepared to take a chance on them.

Pools 1 Solihull Moors 0 Armstrong. 3,000 crowd who have had enough and climb the walls on the Mill House side like the old days.

if it does go ahead i can see a dour borefest, or as some might say, a typical game against solihull. 2 nil for them against the run of the play.

thats really trus. peterborough and accrington have both invested in non league talant with success. i,d rather go down that line and pay a bigger wage for some journeyman type who have a better reputation than what they actually give on the pitch.

Like Ofusu ,Muir or Dinanga  Of course there is talent, but you still have to pick the right ones, or maybe we don't manage or develop them correctly sctatchinghead

development and the willingness to persevere with this type of lad is essential. the other option are the woods, nobles, laings and donaldsons of the football world. every signing is a gamble and not just at pools.

Pitch looks in fine fettle, now covers have been removed. Excellent effort by the Groundstaff, Pools clearly want this game on.

Featherstone out injured - not even on the bench. Can't remember the last time he didn't start.

Crawford and White both in.

Criminal goal kick by them for our goal. Looks like their keeper can’t kick so they were playing it out and lost the ball. Is the live feed jerky for anyone else tonight?

Just a matter of time before the ref loses control. Hopefully it’s one of theirs.

Scrappy after the goal. Pools need to change it up to hold onto the points. Agree with Evan Horwood - Crawford's not in the game.

I'd rather we hung the ball up at set pieces rather than hitting the first defender. I thought Crawford was ok ish. Not giving the ball away as much as he has. The new lad looks a decent signing.

Looking like another good result and solid performance.

About time Ferguson scored. You know I am a big fan of his, but surprised he hasn't so far added goals to his game , hopefully he will go on to get a few more after this.

Pools go marching on. A lot of good individual performances. Eddie Kyle's just said Shelton had a 'quiet' game, which is laughable.

Dagenham & Redbridge have just managed to get beat 3-1 at Notts County despite playing against 10 men for 72 minutes. Hope they're as bad again on Saturday.

Great 3 points for us, thought the disallowed goal fod them was the turning point, if that had stood might have been a different game, thought Johnson, Shelton and Armstrong were outstanding. Torquay definitely got the wobbles on.

91st minute equaliser for Torquay, but we've still pulled a couple of points on them tonight.

For anyone who is interested here is the Points Per Game (PPG) table after the Tuesday night games, just in case it comes to this in a shortened season (apologies again for the formatting). Despite our best-of-season 1.80 PPG tonight we are still only 4th:

3 Notts County 18 11 33 1.83
4 Hartlepool 20 9 36 1.80
5 Stockport 19 10 34 1.79
6 Maidenhead United 18 2 30 1.67
7 Boreham Wood 19 7 30 1.58
8 Eastleigh 20 7 31 1.55
9 Solihull Moors 17 3 26 1.53
10 Bromley 19 8 29 1.53
11 Wrexham 21 5 32 1.52
12 Altrincham 22 2 33 1.50
13 Halifax 20 7 27 1.35

Next 3 games we really need to be looking at 6 plus points if we want to challenge, after that we have Wrexham, Torquay, Stockport and Altrincham in a shortish space of time all away.

Probobly beaten one of the better teams in the league tonight, if only we could sort the away form out now.

Promotion or a 2nd or 3rd place finish looking really on at the moment. Lots of good things going on, 6th home win on the bounce, not since the days of Danny Wilson has that happened, able to play a settled and arguably strongest team, getting goals either side of half time, seeing games out comfortably, DC seemingly ironed out any weaknesses in the side, with likes of Oates and Odusina much improved, and false posiiton because of us having played more games than our rivals now disappearing , as they catch up on games and we keep winning ours. Still a couple with games in hand, but rather have points in the bag.

Still think promotion or 2nd or 3rd place finish will be determined by how we perform at the likes of Dagenham, Dover and Eastleigh, these are the places we need to either win, even with a 90minute winner or at least avoid defeat. We also need to steer clear of injuries to key players such as Featherstone, Ferguson, Sterry or Armstrong. You only have to look at the likes of Torquay and Solihull to see what effect that can have on a team, though we do have a little strength in depth in the squad now if this were to happen.

Armstrongs goals are the difference, and we do seem to have luck on our side so far this season.

I also think this league isn't as good as previous seasons , maybe we are making teams look poor, but the likes of Notts Co, Wrexham, Solihull, Sutton and Stockport look worse this season than in past seasons. With this in mind we really need to take advantage of this. No reason why we can't chase down Torquay whilst Wright is out injured, get into pole position and get the fook out of this awful league , thats the theory anyway, lets see what reality brings...

Jake Kean their goalkeeping coach , 30 years old  Apparently registered to play but not on team sheet last night.

Michael Doyle aged 39 quote "I asked the goalkeeping coach Jake [Kean] where McCallum usually went and just followed it. So when I dived and saw it hit the post I jumped up like a little fly." sctatchinghead

Agree about the away form. I always think in promotion seasons its the gritty horrible to watch 0-1s that few talk about years later, that define it.

Hallmark of a good team, and if we are to finish in the top 3, I expect us to do the same in games we look like losing, in the second half of the season.

anyone noticed the hair pull on armstrong. wonder if anything will be done about it as it was missed or ignored by the match officials. a similar incident happened at accrington on saturday where the offender got a 4 game ban on tv evidence. that was harder to spot as well.

Concurring with both of you on that. This season Pools have generally picked up all 3 points home and away if they score first, but away from home they haven't won a single point once they've gone behind. There was a decent fightback in the Trophy game at Halifax that was lost on pens but that's it.

Pools away league form tailed off after a good start - currently W4, D1, L3 - and in all 3 defeats they failed to score. A good fightback win is well overdue, though it'll be better for my blood pressure if they keep on scoring first and winning!

Yes Accrington - Alex on the commentary couldn't believe the lino didn't see the hair pull, it was that obvious

The hair pull was definitely visible on the video stream, so we can hope that a formal complaint with evidence follows.

A really good result. Kept a clean sheet (fortunately with their 'equaliser' disallowed) and then went 2 up. The away form now needs to get to a more reliable level. Hopefully Weymouth away was a one off and those points lost don't come back to haunt us. Also the prospect of playing Barnet in front of the cameras has got banana skin potential. That said - we are in a deserved position and hopefully that will remain the case. There are a lot of games over the next 2 months and the teams with the bigger squads will show.

It was clear for all to see - and shocking that the lino missed it.

Should leave it to the assessor to complain about rather than whinge ourselves - as if we start making official complaints we are surely setting ourselves up?

if we carry on with good home form and only win half of our away games and lose the other half that will do me and should see pools safely in the higher play off positions at least. just do not want to get into a situation of getting loads of drawn games in the second half of the season. you can hear it now. pools have gone 10 games undefeated but never say they have only won 1 or 2 of em.
