Spotted first by Pitlad but he may as well have his own thread:

https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/pool ... oe-bunney/

Played over 150 games in League One but missed a lot of his last contract (with Northampton) after a road traffic accident left him with broken ribs and collarbone.

Looks a bit like Peter Crouch and used to be a forward before moving to centre back, but he hasn't scored a league goal in 3 seasons - so he'll fit right in

Seriously, welcome Joe - hope it works out for you and us.

Could improve our ratio of scoring from the lots of corners we been getting this season.
Or do we need a top corner kick coach to go with our champions League winner GK coach. ( I'm presuming he's still at the club.)
UTP.

You never know with these type of signings, always a chance it could work out, but more likely not to. At 6 ft 5 you would think clubs would be queuing up for him, seems like another bum on seat signing, joining the other 4 or 5 already at the club. As KPG alludes to above, couldve been signed for his usefullness at set pieces, and especially with tonights game in mind against a big team, of course he may be here months and not get a game.

Its a forward we need, not an ex forward who was that good in front of goal, he was converted into a left back, there is hope for Rhys Oates yet. I see Chesterfield signed top scorer in the NLS last week, Asanti, and he notched on his debut , now thats more like it.

he did seem to have a good spell at rochdale a few seasons ago. being a left back who can play up front and centre half he may be required to do all three at the same time with pools. not going to start drinking again to cellibrate the signing but it could have been a lot worse.

On reflection , not as bad as some of the loan /short term deal signings of the past. Obviously a reason for him being without a club, effects of the car accident, loss of form, but Ferguson ended up in a similar position playing for York after once starring for Blackpool in league 1 and playing in a few games in the Championship.

Like the fact he has playing 150 games in FL for Rochdale and Northampton, some in League 1. Also Keith Hill took him to Bolton after been his manager at Rochdale ( usually a good sign ). Is versatile, which normally is code for not very good in any position, but having played 150 games in the FL I think you can view that as a genuine attribute.

It does appear that DC is genuinely concerned about us getting through this buy period of fixtures , with the emphasis now switched to not falling right behind as opposed to getting into the top 2, which with our lack of goals is never going to happen. I wonder if he will play Bunney at left back and move Ferguson further up the field.

All of our strikers, when through on goal, are like rabbits trapped in the headlights , so he should feel at home

We need a goal poacher though. Only at pools do we sign a striker who now isn’t a striker, let’s hope he improves the defence though, we’re going to need plenty of clean sheets.

Starts tonight, in place of Ferguson sctatchinghead . Ferguson has to be injured, if not, I give up.

Ravas Cass Bunney Maglore Odusina Crawford Featherstone Holohan Molyneux Donaldson Bloomfield

I just don’t see where the goals are going to come from with this team. This has to be our weakest forward line ever.

Sounded like Bunney had a decent first game.

As for the ref , maybe not the best, but we can't keep blaming refs. As for the penalty, that wasn't bad refereeing , he made a mistake , realised it and changed his mind, that is good refereeing, if he hadn't changed his mind, that would've been bad refereeing.

Odusina showed his naivety , Osborne was cunning and savvy and did him. How many times!!! before we wake up to this?

pools should have gone in for matt rhead when he left lincoln. still scoring for boreham wood and being a big handful he would have created space for others and gave a centre half a harder game than what we presently have. might not be a long term appointment but neither are the ones we have go who are in training for a lower league.

They probably did, or someone similar, have said it before, I don't believe DC is that naive, he will have known what was required, but players like Matt Rhead will better wages than what we can offer, especially if you have to move or travel to the arse end of the country.

Bunney looked a decent player and will surely get better when he gets more NL games under his belt. It'll be interesting to see who plays where when Ferguson is fit again.
