Have watched a couple of episodes of this programme recently, harking back to the mid seventies, an hour long it is so heavily biast towards coverage of the London teams its embarrassing.
Today's episode showed 30 mins of a third tier game between Palace and Charlton, an interview with Malcolm Allison, reminiscing with some ex London based footballers (where are they now)15 mins of Luton v Burnley, with literally 3 mins of Newcastle v Man City squeezed in as an afterthought. Brian Moore did'n't even comment on that game or where the result would put those the teams.

To add insult they replayed the Palace goals again at the end of the programme.
Was nice to see Alan Stevenson playing in goal for Burnley, a couple of good save's too.

The episodes shown are the LWT [London Weekend Television] versions of The Big Match, in those days the ITV regions had there own separate versions of the programme, so Tyne Tees would have had the Newcastle v Man City match as the main game.
I can remember attending the Palace v Charlton match, those were the days.

I watched bits of those England games rebroadcast during the lockdown from the Euros with Gazza and shearer etc. Quite surprised at how totally crap some of the players were for instance Darren Anderson was total pap as we're a few others.

I rewatched that England / Spain qualifier during lockdown. The one where Stuart Pearce exorcised the ghost of his World Cup miss. The emotion on the blokes face was palpable.

Big match was London and home counties version of our Shoot. Good game on there, is Watford v Brentford , in either our division or 3rd division, having just been promoted from div 4 season earlier, might of been a cup game, excellent standard of football.

in the yorkshire TV area all we got nearly every week was, leeds, leeds and more bloody leeds. buying a season ticket for them must have been pointlees as you could see extended highlights every sunday with a real proper biased commentator.
