What a nerve, so six teams in the Premiership think they deserve more powers than the other teams, shows the arrogance of those clubs and the greedy people who own them. How can you have an even playing field if that proposal goes through.
It's bad enough that they've made the major cup finals so boring by dominating them over the last 20 years. Must admit the Community Shield could go for me, have no interest in that whatsoever, but scrap/revamp the League Cup?, who's running this game the teams or the F.A? :angry-tappingfoot:

think the whole thing has now been cancelled due to other clubs not in agreement. however it will rear its ugly face again in the future for sure.

Yep, rest of Prem voted against it , not because of any sympathy towards smaller clubs , but because this wouldve hurt them as well. Sums up the world we live in really, Football run by the big 6 and Sky/BT , and the world by big corporations and rich individuals

Backed up by corrupt Governments. Anywhere you hear of a coup taking place, generally means someone decent got into power, representing the interests of the many not the few.

Setting up the Premier League in 1992 was a massive power grab in its own right, which has only got worse in the intervening decades. To be honest I don't much care which clubs out of the 20 are top dogs; bet the Bar Codes were spitting blood when they saw they were going to be excluded from the 9 clubs with voting rights!

I can see why Parry backed it on behalf of the EFL - abolishing parachute payments for relegated clubs would be a massive step in the right direction, as would £250 million a year for the EFL as a whole.

I don't give a monkeys about cutting the Prem to 18 clubs to make more room for European fixtures - the bottom half of the Prem is in a permanent state of denial about their imminent prospects of relegation, which is why they want a 20 club league and parachute payments!

It wouldn't have stopped at 18 though, 16 in a few years then not happy till they got it down to 12. How tediously boring that would be. Probably playing more games on the continent than on home soil, I don't have much interest in the Premiership other than willing the unfashionable teams to beat those "elite" clubs. I do however want to be fair and even, especially when Pools gain promotion to it in the 2025/6 season

You could be right. Personally I hope the 'Big Six' float off to a European Super League with no promotion or relegation sooner rather than later. It would give the government of the day (whoever it is) an opportunity to lean on the FA and the rump of the Premier League to reintegrate into a 5 division EFL.

I have a soft spot for Arsenal so would quite happily watch them play the likes of Bayern and Barcelona twice a season as long as it didn't get in the way of any of Pools' games.

funny how arsenal seem more popular with lower division fans who attend games. is it that they seem less commercialised than the other big guns. if i won something like a day out at one of the big clubs i,d pick them over the rest without any doubt whatsoever.
