Macclesfield's fans are in the same situation as Darlington's were but it sounds as if any phoenix club will have to write this season off and start again in 2021/22, playing in the North West Counties League in Buxton or Congleton:

Looks like the NL this season will be a 23 club league - pity they couldn't just promote York and give us a derby!

On the bright side, only one club will be relegated at the end of the season so that takes some pressure off!

Would it not be 3 teams instead of 4? as 4 go down from NL.

its a kick in the Balls for York as well.

You're right, 3 down. Wishful thinking on my part. With Macclesfield gone, only 5 teams in the entire division are what you could call northern - 7 if you include Wrexham and Nottingham!
